According to a report on fansite inCrysis - via GameStar.de - Crytek lead animator Steven Bender has let slip that the developer will focus even greater attention on graphics for the sequel, a translation from German explaining, "Their ambitious aim is to push the game's visuals to an advanced level, that could be considered near photorealistic movie quality."
A tiny plot detail is additionally given - that the sequel will concentrate on more than battles with aliens and Korean military. Which, you probably would have guessed at anyway.
And that's your lot for now...

Holy Shit O_O Crysis just got released 2 weeks ago and already a Crysis 2 in the works, its gonna be a Trilogy!!!
and wtf @ increaseing the graphics? Crysis already runs slow enough on current hardware

Hah. I have no doubt the developers could push Crysis to another level, but yeah, it's the hardware that's the problem. But whatever man, photorealism in realtime, that's something I would like to see, even if it runs at 1 fps.
yea I would run it at max detail for a few minutes just to see what it looks like, but its gonna require Geforce 9 / Geforce 10 series to get smooth at that detail

Which don't even exist yet. Maybe you could get away with quad crossfire or something. You know... stack 4 3850s... :P

eh i never liked the concept of SLI or Crossfire, alot of games still have issues with it, and you don't get the full advantage you paid for of the second, third, forth card etc.
I always stick to single card setups cause most of the time a single Next Gen Card willl beat a previous SLI/Crossfire setup

Was kind of blatent there was gunna be a sequel, but man, they got on that fast.
The graphics thing is just laughable. Its cool an all, but no one will be able to play the fucking thing =/
When Crysis 2 is out a 8800 Ultra is going to be the new 7900.
Yes it was confirmed a long time ago it was going to be a trilogy, not surprising if you look at the disappointing halo ending in Crysis.

Yea they already have the game engine and map editor finished, so they are starting work on an expansion and just adding an extra touch of graphics to it

I hear its from halo 2, i havent completed that game. Cant really be botherd anymore, halos a bit boring now.
So i wouldnt really know what comparisons they have. Still it was a pretty abrupt ending, games are just getting way too short now days.
