Vice City just stops working :(

Hi, Im wondering if anyone can help me out here. Today vice city stopped working. Ive finished it so I know it works on my PC.
However now whenever I run the .exe or its shortcut the cursor switches to a loading one, then after a few secs it goes back to normal and nothing happens. It refuses to load. Ive uninstalled it and everything but its still doing the same thing.
The only thing thats different to when I last ran it is I changed my monitor refresh rate to 85hz. But Ive since changed it back to what it used to be and it still not working (even after another re-install).
Its wierd the exact same thing used to happened to me with GTA3 aswell (which I also clocked before the problem started) which was ages ago now, Ive since reformated lots n stuff. Im running Windows 2000 service pack 4.

I havent found anything about this prob on the net so im hoping someone here can help me plzzzzzz?

How strange. Your username is the same as my infoline. Bungle fan?

As for your problem, I always found running the game in compatibility mode pretty much fixed everything that ever went wrong for me, so might be worth a shot.

Yep Bungle fan heh. Well I tried all the compatability modes but still the same thing, which compatability mode do u run it in specificly btw?

Holy Crapazoid! Just after reading your message Colonel V I thought id give it a try coz I havent in ages, Didnt work. So I opened the shortcuts properties and now I dunno why I did this, but I ticked the "Run as different user" box and pressed apply and ran it again, After asking me to enter my Administrator account password it WORKED!!!!!!11!

I guess Ill just have to copy my saves over into my admin account and I should be set. Man I finally figured it out!!!!!!! :D :D :D
