Daylight savings was this morning, so anyone affected should now be an hour ahead. I checked the trailer countdown, and found that no changes were made due to daylight savings. What this means is the trailer will be released in the same amount of time from now even if there were no daylight savings, but will appear to be released 1 hour later than expected. So for example if you're on the east coast USA like I am, originally the trailer was set to be released at 6:00 PM, but now will be at 7:00 PM.
I know, very detailed explanation there, but I just want to make sure everyone understands that it won't launch at the originally expected time.

I don't know. I still think that within minutes of the trailer reaching zero, the trailer will be made available.

haha i'd love for it to be an early april fools. Then I'll be seeing 'OMFG ROCKSTAR U SUK ASS' everywhere :P
I expect when the trailer does go up, the server will be having lots of downtime or it'll be very slow.

@phreak, Could be, but I'm going to have two windows of it open at the time, constantly refreshing one and letting the other hit 00 00 00 00 and then refresh that one.

The thing is, the countdown is based off your computer's clock. If you change you clock closer to the release time the countdown will say only minutes are left. Still means daylight savings are confusing for this.

I wouldn't be suprised if you set 10min before the end of the countdown and it actually showed the Link rofl.

Ah, I see. Well in the end, just make sure you check the countdown a few hours before it ends to know when exactly it will end.
By the way, I changed my clock to the time the trailer launches, it just starts over at 00 24 00 00 :P
I'd guess they just going to flip flop the Index file once the time has come for the trailer
From what I know, I'm thinking the trailer will be released moreso on the workday than the actual time the countdown says. Because when the countdown ends it doesn't just load up a trailer. Someone has to upload it and change the index file so the trailer displays, so it would be more practical for the webmaster to do this when it is convenient during his day instead of at a scheduled time.
In short, be ready for it at any time plus or minus a few hours on the countdown.
It is still 5 AM in the morning of 30th March (in Bangladesh). :(

I'm pretty certain it's 11:00am in NZ (Jimmy). DST comes into affect this week I believe, so we're GMT +12 again :)
MEANING it's one hour earlier for NZ.

When they put up an actual countdown for a trailer, I'm pretty sure they won't rip anyone off. They'll stick to the scheduled time I'm sure and upload the trailer very shortly after the counter finishes.

Seeing as how busy the server would be, someone should save the video, and post a mirror of it here. Anyone think that makes sense? (Also, changing computer clock does not help)

Yeah I posted earlier in the thread that changing the clock doesn't do anything :P It resets the countdown to 24 hours left.
I plan on converting (if the trailer is in the flash .swf) and uploading to YouTube or something.

Rockstar always offer multi-formats for their trailers (well Quicktime and WMV) and on YouTube (The official Rockstar Channel) So I don't see why people need to convert it when it will already be availble in the format, heck it will even be available in HD as well as the Xbox Live Market Place.

What I'm saying is that there's that possibility that it will be in .swf format right on that page so it will be quick to start watching asap.

Right you are. I forgot about daylight savings until Slim posted this thread. 2.5 weeks approx to go.
Yeah but why did Rockstar give a User specified Time setting. It could have just used the server time. Now basically its very hard to even determine the exact time the trailer will be release

All the countdown timer really gives us is a rough estimate to exactly when the trailer will be released.

One hour later, one hour earlier.
Doesn't really matter, considering the hits the server is going to get from all around the world.
I'll be happy if I can see it within five hours of release.
Someone among us will be right on making a thread on that instance. No worries. :)

Someone needs to be ready to rip the FLV and upload if it is in flash format. :P

^Exactly what I'm going to be ready for.
@Asif, if that were me, I would watch through it first, stop shitting myself, then post the thread ;)

I suggest, to anyone who is directly waiting for the trailer to download it as quickly as they can an provide it on as many servers as they can and on youtube etc.
There will be a set time for everyone for when the trailer will appear, *around* the time that an accurate computer clock displaying it's correct time makes the official counter hit zero. For us in the UK, the trailer *should* appear at 10pm on Thursday 29 March. Some people will have to wait until midnight, others, the morning...
And I doubt the trailer will go up straight away. There'll be some waiting. And much lag.

Rockstar have a youtube director's account so it'll definitely be up there.

Yeah I never looked into that the other day when I heard of it, but I doubt it will be on YouTube until later after the release.

Yeah, it takes at least an hour or two before it shows up on YouTube. That is what I noticed they did with VCS trailers.

It releases one day after my exams finish so I'll be sitting and just waiting for it. I'll try and grab a copy of it the moment it releases, like Slim.

I hope it's on the Marketplace within the first few hours because the website will be bogged down for virtually then entire day and then some.
