The Official "First Thing I will do in the game" Thread

Ok, so its a bit early. But I was just wondering what all you guys are going to do first when you get it.
Me, im probably going to get into the nearest car and have a little drive around the neighbourhood/place we start in. Just to get to know the first area. Then im going to do some missions.

I'd do basically the same.
Just cruise around my block and a little firther and embrace the beauty and newness with my eyes.
Maybe not with a car, but with a new vehicle (if there's gonna be something) like a skaterboard or skates or whatever.
The first time I'm going to do it, I'll have my good friend with me and we'll be drinking champagne.
We're both GTA fanatics :D

Like PastorRichardsFanatic and Ivar said, I would basically explore the neighbourhood before anything else, get to know the place. Then I would do a mission or something.

Then I'll drive around to check out the athmosphere of the game. Listen to a chat station. Then catch a mission after an hour or so.

As I'm a Robot says, you're usually started straight into the first mission. I'll probably finish that, then maybe on or two more, but will most likely spend the first few hours listening to the radio and exploring. Possibly some side missions as things like taxi missions are good for listening to the radio and earning some cash to start off with. However who knows if GTAIV will even have some of this stuff.

In Vice City you can effectively avoid doing the first mission. Same with San Andreas, although it takes some maneuvering.

First thing I'm going to do, I'm gonna follow the storyline. By doing so, you sort of "get acquainted" with the gameplay environment. Missions will have you doing specific things in specific places so you'll more easily be able to learn your way around.

I remember the 1st thing I did in SA was walk around checkin all the graff an surrounding details, until I encountered some ballaz who referred to me as a "switch-a-roo-ass-ni**a"... I then thought 'my god this game is dope'.. imma pretty much do the same with IV, hopefully i'll get called that again.

Definatley have a quick cruise around the open area, get a fell, and then start/continue with the story. I can't wait to see the new city and all the new improvements.

I'll do as I did for all the other games - play it through once at a medium pace, meaning plenty of wandering, exploring, doing random stuff. Then, after I've completed all the missions, caused a few massacres, get on gamefaq and crack down to get 100%.

I'll be doing the same as i did when SA was relased! I remember loading my truck with my TV and my PS2, beers, cola, and then heading off to my best buddy's house. We played all night just admirring the game!

I'll be doing rougly the same when IV is released! :D I'll be sipping champagne and just go for a cruise up and down the street, then i'll sit in AWE with my jaw dropped down to the floor, and do the vista "wow"

I'll first blow off the intro mission to explore a bit and get a feel for my environment. Then I'll probly run over some peds for cash and end up dying/getting arrested before i complete the first mission. Then I'll restart the first mission and continue doing a few more story missions, then explore again.

i will probably do what i usually do, get 4 or 5 missions knocked out of the way and get to a point in the story where it doesnt feel interrupted to go dick around the city/state (country?) and depending on the size of the map and how much is unlocked i'll waste a lot of time usin the new features and explorin the new land

I remember the first thing I did in SA was complete the first two missions, then went off and got chased by the police, gunned down a few of my first victims and then I turned it off and went to bed.(I got it at 12 so it was about 1am). Then I woke back up in the morning and played the missions.
