@LM, yeah they may use the game theme in the trailer, but it's not always done. However, considering we know basically nothing about the game, soundtrack music wouldn't make much sense in the trailer. I've been imagining what the theme music could be for awhile now, I sure hope it's awesome :)

Yeah, I never thought about theme music. It could actually give us a good idea of the theme & time, for example San An had a hip hop sounding theme, with G Funk in it, which was popular in the early '90s.

Understand exactly what you're saying there, and look at it the same way really. However, the thing is, this is GTA IV, huge, biggest GTA ever, so I'm thinking that Rockstar will give us a nice, 1:30 long one with some cool stuff to show off in it. How many times have they ever thrown up a countdown for a GTA trailer? This is the first, it has to be big.

Exactly Slim, I'm almost to the point to thinking this is the most anticipated release of a video game of all time. Halo 3 I know is still huge, but this is GTA IV, not some little knockoff like the Stories series. I bet the media is a little tired of GTA, but that doesn't mean it can't be the biggest game of the year. :D

New Jersey would definitely be cool, (as I live in NJ) and combining areas of cities and areas around it (like The Godfather had New Jersey and parts of New York, if I believe correctly. But so many people, those who know a lot about the GTA series, are missing out on the obvious when they even think about New York being the setting. LIBERTY CITY. I'd prefer a nice big state again :P

Nah, it's definitely somewhere in New Jersey. On LCS, someone calls in from Carcer, and they sound like they have that accent that's relative of the NYC/ northeastern NJ area. Plus, I could of sworn I heard something in that call about the two cities (Carcer and Liberty) being basically right next to each other.

Liberty = Freedom

So it can only mean the two cities are indeed neighbors.

Like San Andreas, I hope the game isn't limited to one city. I actually hope it's Carcer City with a mix of others. Maybe even redone versions of Liberty City and Vice City along with others.

And I really hope it's not set in Europe.... The Getaway is already doing/already did London and supposedly Amsterdam, and the setting and story in those games don't feel like GTA to me. America is just the right place for the kind of crime that goes on in a GTA game. :P

Besides, if they were to move the serries into Europe, where would all the characters like Lazlow, Fernando Martinez, and all the other radio people/characters go? I know Rockstar is pretty much starting from square one with GTAIV, but you can't just drop those people after we have all come to love them over the years. And I know for a fact that Lazlow is in the next game.

In addition, the magazine cites "sources close to the project" in revealing that "the team is looking beyond the US for the setting of the next title, with Europe a strong contender." Again, perhaps slightly obvious, since the game's last outing seemed to cover the entire country - or an entire state, at least.

I would love it if it was in Europe. London would be cool, but what I have always thought(and hoped) was that they would set the game in Tokyo. I don't really see that they can do anything new with another American-style city, since that was already done in GTA III.

I expect very little, especially since it's so early it GTA IV's lifetime. I doubt it will really be more than a short teaser. I expect to see something along the lines of the timeframe and location. By knowing the timeframe, we can guess the music, even if they don't throw in some major hint-giving music as the time or location.

I HIGHLY doubt we will see any information about the main character this early. Perhaps the second or third trailer, but I doubt it as of right now.

nice cobalt, but I dont expect much difference from the previous GTA's, all we will get are better graphics, maybe some sweat runnin off a scared guy, but really what more can you do in a game like GTA that hasnt been done. Dont get to excited boys and girls, we've been let down twice since gta3. It will be the same with new tricks and a snazzy jacket. Don't hate on me, I've been playing this series since GTA1 and I really cant see myself being more impressed than being stunned when gta3 came out. Im honestly just hoping for a car that gets damage beyond the body work. its pretty lame when you run into a cement wall doing 120 and your bumper falls off. Hopefully there will be a destructable environment past mailboxes and posts like sides of buildings but i strongly doubt it, and Realistic cops. When they pop out of nowhere and there are 50 of them thats just really annoying.

I agree 100%. By the way, the best way, I think, to figure out what they are doing, someone needs to find out whether any of the voice talent from past games has been reused in the new one. If they have kept contracts with guys like Young Maytay, Bill Fichtner, Robert Davi, and of course Ray Liotta, then there is a pretty good chance that it is taking place here in the states -- at least, predominantly.

I would like to see them branch out and do other COUNTRIES ENTIRELY -- but only as LATER missions. Alternatively, they COULD start in Europe or Asia, and have the game progress to bring the character to the U.S. I just want to see SA, VC, and LC represented in the new game.
