View Full Version : HELP! Problem with aiming/mouse view

I've got this crazy aiming/mouse viewing issue that i can't figure out....when i go to aim, my view starts to spin to the left non stop....just keeps going in circles. If i let off all the controls keyboard/mouse and do nothing, the view starts to spin to the left. I've checked for stuck keys and stuff like that ( no other game i play has this type of problem). Also i've tried to delete all the alternative keys for aiming and viewing and that changes nothing.
Then i thought maybe the aiming was to try to make it more realistic....kinda like a view bob or something, so i put in the hitman in all weapons cheat thinking that would change how steady the aim is, but it still just turns around in circles. I'm about to turn the disk into a coaster and say screw it...SOMEONE HELP!!!
Try deleting the gta_sa.set file (directory: C:\Documents and Settings\Your_username\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files)

Ok can you go a little further? What is that file and why is it causing me problems? I deleted it (i'm guessing it's the key remapping save file or something) but it didn't change the aiming part at all.
The game doesn't automatically aim all stupid like that does it? If all i do is push RMB to aim, he just starts spinning around in circles. To get a bead on a target i have to counter by moving the mouse to the right over and over and over and it's nearly impossible to hit anything.
It's the file contains all settings being set for the game.
Once you delete it, the game settings will be back to default settings and a 'new' gta_sa.set file will be auto-created containing the default settings.

Ok, you may re-install the game, after deleting the gta_sa.set. That should work most of the times.

Well, now i tried to uninstall/reinstall and now he's spinning/aiming up and to the right instead of to the left...this is getting old fast.
Then, the only way I can think is updating the driver files of your mouse. Search for the latest updates on the net.

Ok it also happens when i'm in a vehicle...the view spins around and around if i let off the mouse. I just updated my mouse drivers and nothing changed.

Ok figured it out...if you happen to use an adaptor for using a Playstation 2 controller on your PC, it interfiers. I wasn't even using it but having it plugged in caused conflicts. Thanks for tryin!
Hmm...the game must be sensitive to both configurations (keyboard+mouse & keyboard+gamepad) at the same.

I use a PS2 adapter and have never had any problems, as i use it for the game instead of mouse/keyboard.
