I started the list now you guys add what you want.
Edit: Im well aware most of these songs arnt from 1984. But Rockstar dont always have songs from that direct era/year. I.e. Welcome to The Jungle - Guns N Roses was in San Andreas when it was first released in 1987.

In reference to your edit part (although it's true) they do always have songs which are from from the year the game is set or earlier, and I'm guessing one or two in your list are from after 1984.
That said, it's a solid list of ideas. I really do hope they can do it justice as Vice City just wouldn't have the same feel with a soundtrack that couldn't match up to the original VC soundtrack.

Please don`t bring in Wham! for my sake, i have this bad habbit of singing all the songs from the game over and over and over again. And my buddies probaly gonna mock me if i start singing Wham-songs....besides singing "Last Christmas" when we have a nice time in electronics.

As long as there's something off Van Halen's 1984 I'll be happy. VROCK must be there and rocking hard. Will probably have Cousin Ed on the radio instead of Lazlow (remember, Lazlow took Ed's job, and apparently not too long before VC started because Ed was still pissed about it) This may be the first GTA since GTA3 without a Lazlow appearance.

hopefully some good hardcore punk(Bad Brains, Suicidal Tendencies, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, and a little bit of Dead Kennedys), throw some Hall And Oats in there too(Private Eyes), im not sure about what you could do about the hip hop, some Van Halen or Def Leopard, a little Michael Jackson, hell even some Linda Rondstant or Sheena Easton.

i got really excited when Vice City came out, but that was 86 and hardcore was dead by then, but in 84 it was very much alive. it would be really cool if they had a hardcore station, maybe even Adam First would be on it, although he was an annoying little prick.

I agree with you guys, Lazlow has to be in VCS, he was in VC on V-Rock right? But maybe since that Ed-dude or what the hell his name is i think maybe Lazlow have the job on K-Chat(if that station comes in this game). Since he was "good" with that in the Late 90`s with LCS and starting of the new century in GTA3.
Hope Toni or Flash FM comes back, that V-Rock, Emotion and a Wave was great.
Hope they take in more big names than LCS where it was alot of unkown artist for most people besides the hiphop there.

We need Lazlow. He's the kind of guy who makes you sit back and listen on a ride from LS to SF. Or just random driving. He's like the essence of GTA radio. He must have a show on the VCS radio.
Havok
08-15-2006, 02:43 PM
he does the writing for all the radio stations, he will be in the game
All songs should be before the game was plotted in. Listening to a song that was created in 1999 would be kind of weird because the game is placed in the 80's. Anyway, I hope they keep Emotion 98.3. I listen to that channel all the time.

Hopefully Wildstyle (or equivilant) will have some great hip hop. Something I wanna see, is a change of DJ on each station. Example: A Brand New hour on Wildstyle w/ DJ ... and later an Old School show w/ DJ ...
I am quite sure Radio Espantoso or similar latino radio may return. I dont understand their Spanish, but I like the tune they play.

I highly doubt Wildstyle would return. Seeing as they were a pirated radio station hiding somewhere in Vice City.
On the PlanetGTA (http://planetgrandtheftauto.gamespy.com/), Jordan says that Wildstyle has been there in Vice city since '82. Not sure how he figured that out.
Only song I would really dig to see is:
