Movies like GTA?

I tend to get hooked on movies that have something to do with the games im playing, before it was knights of the old republic and the new star wars episodes. Now since ive got GTA for my xbox what movies are out there like the game?

The movie Scarface was practically idolized in Vice City, and not without good reason, so you should definetly check out that 1982 classic.

Yeah the Scarface remake is practically 'Vice City: The Film' if you want to think of it like that. Goodfellas is another good one.

Also, there's a bit towards the beginning of Bad Boys 2 where they are chasing a bunch of Yardies, which reminded me a lot of GTA3.

Scarface is hella lot like Vice City. It's a great movie. Bought the DVD not to long ago, and watched it about 5 times in 2 days. Tony Montana (Al Pacino) pwns.

for don corleone: The picture from lunch's post; the writing is very similar to GTA1's cover picture. I wanna watch that movie...better be good. Vice city is basically scarface with shitloads of elements from goodfellas and getaway and italian job rolled in. turn it into a game, make the whole city explorable and interactive and you have vice 'fucking' city. I watched gangsta films after i played vice city and i was s0o0o0o0o0o pissed off to find that vice city WAS a copy of all of them. i'm surprised the makers haven't pounced on rockstar like that lieberman cunt.

i love playing it but i felt so cheated when it was all in the movies :( and they DO have elements from the movie...The Vice city palm tree backdrop is in scarface...and the main office in scarface is the main office in The vercetti estate

oh i remember an element from a movie which has NOTHING to do with gangs etc. anyone seen tom clancy's movie Killernet? (i think thats what it's called). There is a moment when the main guy goes into a chinese café and realises there's a bomb inside. he runs out and when they show it from outside it looks EXACTLY like Umberto Robina's café. The roads are there, even the alleyways. Here's a screenshot from Vice city. I'll let you know if i get a screenshot of the place from the movie.

Ive never heard of the italian job game. I doubt that they would use the storyline for the movie in the new game; its plajeurism (dunno how to spell it) and it would get boring. there won't be any surprises cos we've seen the movie already. (max payne - the movie? SWEET!)

Watch Charlito's Way. And then you have to take a look to the Lawer (Sean Penn) in the movie and Vice City. Looks familiar? I'll try to find a picture of it on the internet. Charlito's Way was also directed by Brian DePalma (same as Scarface) and the guy who's playing the voice of Diaz is also playing in it.

OK ! Any one who hasn't seen scarface doesn't know what they're missing it is one of the greatest movies of all time!
My advice .... buy it , watch it , you'll understand just how special GTA is as Tommy Vercetti basically plays out the plot of Tony Montana.

I have. I like 2 better because of that Mini-Gun part where "Arnold" fires it at the cops and he stands in that building where the glass is gonna break and they detonate the whole place. Tommy isn't anything like the Terminator. Terminator=Robotic talking, computer made machine.
