Could someone inform me on how I could have more cars and people on the roads?

there is about a maximum of 5 cars at any time on the road, and this is very unlike miami traffic.

And a mall is shopping highway - people walking in all directions, but the north point mall fails to achieve this effect, i'm lucky to find perhaps more than two groups of 4 shoppers/gangs.

Anyone know how I could tweak the amount of spawning-cars and spawning-people that appear? I intending an almost rushhour effect.

theres no real way. bartons traffic mod is crazy, but if thats ok, then use it.

theres also a limit adjuster, but that doesnt change how many cars spawn. just how much itll let vice city handle. i think it goes down to your pc and its resources

The only thing i can think of is the "Frq" column in the default.ide file. But, i think that's what brokenfish's talking about. I dunno, that's probably the only way to do it without smoe serious main.scm modding

no he wants them on the roads. the frequency is more like a percentage i think.

you can take bartons mod and adjust it, but i would rather just leave my game alone. for some reason, im the only one who thinks theres enough traffic on my road :p

well, i WAS going to make a Grand Theft Auto: Los Angeles mod for Vice City, and I too was thinking about this because I know that the traffic in L.A. is horrible! I had the same problem of finding out how to increase the traffic. Barton's mod is great if you enjoy chaos. It's not really a traffic enhancer, it's more of a traffic "crazier" if that even makes sense. It just spawns different cars and random times and makes them crash into each other. It gets annoying if you are on a bike... hehe

I was a bit disappointed when I saw it, actually. What I was looking for, and maybe what slen is also looking for, is just MORE cars on the road, but they still act like all the rest, in a perfect line, not changing lanes often, stopping at red lights, that sort of thing. Not chaotic maniacs that are out to kill you :D !

bartons a little goofy if you dont know him or havent known him that long :p

so this is really enhancing the traffic ;)

but to tone it down a little - i think its possible.

i agree with brokenfish, the traffic amount is fine for me, maybe a bit more traffic, but what it's at is fine for me

Yeah, u've all got the idea, its just that if you compare the traffic density of vice city to that of gta3, you'll notice that vice city has significantly lost the effect of a busy miami-like road.

I never complained about liberty city's traffic, in fact, I never noticed it. But as soon as vice city came out I already felt something was missing.

Does anyone know that exhilerating feeling of racing and weaving through dense traffic while the cops are on to you at a 3 or 4 star rating? You take a peak behind you, while you skid around a corner between a shoddy karuma and tanky flatbed, and you observe the enforcer smash full on into a sentinel.

I appreciate decent mods that make the game realistic, which was very unlike bartons traffic mod. I found my sentinel xs moulded with a hotring that appeared from nowhere. and chaotic is the only word to describe bartons traffic mod. Interesting, but chaotic.

I adjusted the limits, but my game gets very unstable. but I'm confident that there is a way to control such a variable. Dunnos, I just thought perhaps the knowledge of more experienced modders might help.

Thanx anyways, slen.
