Yes its official (http://www.n-philes.com/index.php?id=2989) Splinters Cell Double Agent will be going to Wii and may even be a launch title with Ubisoft saying its release date is November and may be availible at launch. Ubisoft also said lockpicking will be done by shaking the Nunchuk attachment but gave no other info on how the controls would function.
Ubisoft gives the Wii even more love.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent, the latest installment in the Splinter Cell franchise, will in fact be heading toward the Nintendo Wii console, perhaps even at launch. The game is already planned to be released on the GameCube (along with the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 2).
Double Agent features Sam Fisher as he tries to stop yet another terrorist plot. Fisher goes under cover to infiltrate the group's American headquarters, using stealth and lethal force. After losing his daughter to a car crash, Sam Fisher's personality is even darker than before. This game features a "choose your own adventure" type gameplay, allowing you to play nice with the enemy and change certain events to alter the storyline.
The Wii version will be based on the Playstation 2/GameCube version, but will be altered to make use of the Wii remote and nunchukas. Only sure details are that you can shake the Wiimote to pick locks, but Ubisoft didn't disclose anything else. The Wii version will lack some missions found only in the Xbox 360 mold. There is no online play, but downloadables aren't impossible.
Release date is scheduled to be sometime in November, hopefully during the Wii's launch period.
