To all Just Cause fans: Thanks for all the great feedback! We are aware of some of the issues commented and please remember that the demo does not represent the final quality of the game (both the PC and Xbox 360 demo). Some of the differences between the retail and demo versions are:
*Physics tweaked vehicle handling is improved in the retail versions.
*Graphics updates including improved landscape graphics.
*There are no "mission areas" (which leads to mission failed if left) in retail version.
We'd also like to take the opportunity to kill the rumor of a cancelled Xbox version. Just Cause will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC simultaneously in Europe on September 22nd and in the US on September 27th.

It's coming out for PS2? Cool, maybe I'll rent it :P
No, seriously, I didn't know that.
Well, it was kinda hard to see if the physics were effed up or not while the game was running at 10FPS on my computer ;)
yeah thats surprised me too, I thought PS2 was showing its age and they managed to get a game with that big of a map to run on it

Ehh, I hate that every time I hear of this game, or see gameplay footage, it looks like a combination of True Crime and Total Overdose. That worries me. And I hate how the only screens of it are from the 360 version, can't see what I'll be playing.
But I will rent it, definetely.

Great news. The vehicle physics was my biggest problem with the demo.
Looks good the 360 demo was nice, id say nearly on par with Saints Row but ill have to wait for it release before making a call like that.

Judging from the demo, it seems like a great idea gone bad.
Judging from the demo, it seems like a great idea gone bad.Yes but developers have said they squashed most of the visual and gameplay bugs from the demo so hopefully its great.

Good news. I hope they actually fixed the vehicle physics and handling because they sucked.

I just got the demo and I love it. I just like stunting. Like flying down hills at top speeds. ANyways I hopefuly will be getting it on the 360. And those updates are nice.
If anyone is interested I made a full size map of this game based off the map viewer on full zoom. It took me about 3 or 4 hours to make, What I did was take screenshots of every part of the map with the game's map viewer, croped them, and then pieced them together using Photoshop 9.0 CS2. Now you can really get an idea what 250,000 acres of land is like. The bright area is the demo island, and the rest of the map is what we all look forward to in the final game. After clicking this link, click on the picture to get the full size. :) Its a 2019x1935 image

I haven't heard much of the demo, just seen a few videos on youtube. If the handling/physics is a poor as some of you say, this game could be a bit of a let down. As long as they're fun it shouldn't matter how real they are.
Nice work on the map Nite! I haven't actually seen the full map before, it's quite an archepelago.
How big would you say the demo island is in comparison to say, Portland from LC? How long does it take to drive across?

I dunno I never timed it, but the demo island alone is at least the same size as the GTA:SA map, full map is like 25 to 30 times the size

One word. Extreme.
I knew it was bigger but never had it compared to anything else. Nice!

And don't forget that they had to compress the map so it looks small. Infact the roads on the map seem small but infact they are very large.

when I first heard about Just Cause (I think here at GTAgaming) I thought we will finally get a great GTA clone with amazing graphics but after playing the PC demo I have to say I am really disappointed (even if they said they will tweak it before the final release).. the handling of the cars is horrible (they need a miracle to fix that ) and the graphics, I put everything on high and what I got is colors and light effects that do more damage to the eye than make the game look good.. I'm pretty skeptic about this, even a well thought storyline and exciting missions couldn't compensate the lack of good physics and the 'ugly' (maybe I'm too harsh, but that's just my oppinion) graphics..
I expected much more from this game, I hope something happens that will make the demo pale in comparison with the final version.. :(
(this makes me wanna play GTA:VC or Mafia)

Did you try disabling the Heat Haze under Post Effects? I know in the demo it did make the game look blurry and hurt my eyes as well but it did make the game look a little better with it off. I kinda hope they fix that in the final as well.
By the way tho now that you guys seen the map what areas of it do you think it will be? the only thing I can guess is this section, looks like the inside of a Volcano

It's officially out. The ISO's around 6GB, so they weren't lying about the map size.

I got it at work 3 days ago, but haven't tried it yet. I'm gonna try it out tonight. I got the PS2 version though. Gonna try the PC version on monday.
Good. Tell me if its worth getting the Full Game. I don't wanna waste my time getting something that sucks like the demo

Can you believe the driving in that demo? I downloaded it for PC, and the driving and movement were so bad, I didn't even bother to plat it anymore. You pushed the arrow to the left once, rapidly, and the car moves 90 degrees.
I will try to get some time tonight to try out the PS2 version, but im considering going out drinking instead. Will try it anyway after the Liverpool<3-Tottenham match tomorrow.

It's okay, IMO. They fixed the driving a bit, so it's easier to drive than in the demo. It's also really fun to stunt, since you get a grapple hook.

Still not? The driving abilities in that demo was some of the worst in the last few years. I've played Amiga 500 games with more feel to the steering.
Dissapointing that this wasn't taken care of.

Fans of the Nintendo SNES classic "Pilotwings" will literally jump at the chance to parachute from any of the aircraft for spectacular views of the vast landscape below. There is bound to be a sequel, because this original is so good.
Rofl. Too bad hardly 3 different reviews are online at metacritic. If this game stays at 70 i'd be suprised. I wish i didn't go get this game at all
