They are quite similar. I have not played Saints Row yet but I am wondering what everyone else thinks of this game compared to GTA and all other Free Roam games like TRue Crime, The Getaway ETC.
Graphics wise, Saints Row. Gameplay wise GTA.
You cannot beat the original series.

Saints Row looks way better then GTA, but I do believe GTA is more fun, and we just have to wait and see what GTA IV will look like, hopefully even better then Saints Row, and even if it will not looks as good, I will always be a true GTA fan

Saints row is beter graphic's wise, though I dont give a fuck if its better graphically, because gfx only count 1% in my opinion. Whats use having nice graphics and horrible gameplay.
Anyway, GTA has that little something that you'll always say "Im playing GTA " even after years after its release.

people were saying the same thing about the game "Just Cause" also. Its like any new game that comes out where you drive around big maps is considered a GTA clone :zero:
Fry, post something more worthwhile than that please.Sorry, but he pretty much summed up what i was going to say but i'll give you the longer version of my views on the game.
In my opinion Saints Row lacks originality, atleast when games like True Crime copied they added their own little bits and peices, Saints Row is just a copy and paste style game and lacks any original elements. I also hate how the game is so open with dropping "Fuck" into every second word i mean im not against swearing i swear every day but it just takes away from the game/script and i think the word is more powerful (to display emotions) when its only used occassionally.

But that said its still a good game with nice (not great) graphics and a good story line worthy of being in my collection and id give it 7.5/10.

Every game since Doom has been a copy.Besides GTA is hardly original.

Then again, Doom was a "rip-off" off Wolfenstein 3D
Both of which were made by ID software so you can't really call doom a rip off.
Besides GTA is hardly original.
I cant think of a GTA style games that was out before the first GTA, but i might be wrong so if there was please do post its name.

Besides, all GTA did was mix games like Spyro with it's free-roaming stuff, and regular 3rd-person shoot-em-ups. Added a good story, music, radio, and generally more freedom than msot other games.
I'm not saying copying is a bad thing, GTA is great, every game copies nowadays. The latest game I've seen that was ever original was Abe's Oddysee. It just pisses me off when people slate Saint's Row, saying it's unoriginal, when GTA isn't really riginal either.
Driver was the first game to of that class to come out with 3D driving around maps, essentially. So, really, it should be called "A Driver Clone":P. In all seriousness though, I think GTA is way better. Doesn't matter what it looks like, it's the fun factor, which in my opinion, would be GTA's, specifically Vice City. <3

I see the simularities in that link but i am more referring to the point that GTA1 was the first game where you were the criminal commiting crimes, killing the innoncent, running from the cops and helping crime lords. I cant remember any games where you were the guy on the other side of the law, sure Driver came out in 3D first but GTA was the orignal game to go down that path. Then all of a sudden we had Driver, True Crime, Just Cause and Saints Row and more all comming out. But i completely agree all Games copy bits and peices or the style and add there own parts to improve on it rival.
EDIT- i cant believe i got neg reped for saying this.......................It was before the first 3D GTA but not the original series.

Haven't played Saints Row yet, but the TV advert, the graphics on it kick ass. But gameplay-wise, GTA owns all :D
