View Full Version : Site audio hints to London confirmation for GTAIV?

I just noticed on the official site, when I was listening to the Wave 103 portion, the DJ, or some other woman, said "Vice City to London!". I know it seems a bit earlier to be making assumptions like that and jumping to conclusions, but it seems every GTA game has hinted the location of the next GTA, so it seems logical, since this audio will appear in the game's radio and not just a site audio.

I suppose your assumption has a point, they always give hints.

Well in that case...YAY FOR LONDON! I always had a feeling deep within that's where it was going to be set. I know it's not official by any means (at least not publically), but this is a good hint. Reminds me of when in Vice City, BJ Smith mentions San Andreas and bang, GTA San Andreas was born.
Each GTA Game always leave some clues about its successor. As I've heard, in LCS, peds were mentioning about Vice City. Then came inevitably VCS. :s

Well if it is London I hope they dont give the sky a grayish gloomy color lke in the Getaway
Id want bright blue skies that give the city a great happy felling.

Great find, but I dunno. Ofcourse, its possible, and what Asif said makes it sound likely, but you cant be sure this early on. Nice work though, its always fun looking for hints etc.

Good point. I'm not sure if I'd like it in London, but it's bound to be great if it is

No offense to any Europeans, but I just wouldn't be able to stand the radio if it were in London.

 London is awesome. The radio is very funny especially the random phone calls most radio stations get.

I mean music wise. The accent would just get to me after awhile. I'm sure the talk radio would own though :P :D

This has spun way out of control. Sure London could be the next GTA game but there probably just mentioning London because thats were the girls from and most music on Wave comes from that area. But seriously. I know Rockstar leaves hints on their radio stations, but come on. It's Absurred

I've been in London, I had a blast there, time of my life, but I don't wan't GTA to be around there, if it would be London, I would be a bit dissapointed, London is just to...gray and rainy, if I wan't that, I can just go outside:(

Don't forget that this game is not a mirror of actual reality, and not only that we get very nice and sunny days these days.

yeah, I know the amount of rainy days in London is about the same as Dallas Texas (which isn't that much) or atleast that is what I heard on the radio when I was there.
But alot of people have this view of London that it rains a lot, including the guys of Rockstar, just look at San Fierro, the climate in San Fransisco is Mediterranian but it rains about everyday in the game...

Nice find, Slim. It does look like GTA: IV will most likely be set in London. San Andreas showed alot of clues, the clocks, airport schedule, european pedestrians and even pedestrians say "I'm going for a trip to europe!".
All GTA's have hinted things about an upcoming GTA, this is one of them. Some people seems to forget the pattern that seems to be happening.
the very first GTA has been re-made into a 3D 3rd person with Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas all finished then they later brought out GTA: London and that is next in line to be re-made into a 3D 3rd person.

That's really about the Truth, Slim. You have iTunes, right? Go to Top 40 on Radio and scroll down to Virgin Radio UK and give it a listen. Most is British but hey, lots of good music coming out of the UK these days (Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Razoright, Feeling, Kooks etc.). The different British accents makes it all the better :)

It would be really good if GTA IV was set in a fictional London in the Time period of 1970's (capture that sort of Punk era were nobody gave a shit). Would be cool. Biker gangs would rule. Maybe some solid Crystal Ship on the radio (K-DST Fans know what I mean).

That'd be cool, but can it be saved for a classic rock channel? I want a London based game to be set in 2007. So far, our "newest" game is GTA III.
And I don't think motorcycles are all the rave in England, but I may be wrong.

Yeah true. Actually I dont know too much about England. But im sure there would be Bikeys. I mean theres heaps of Bikeys in Australia. So there shouldn't be too much difference I guess.
But its always been Rockstar to stay away from the time period the game was set in. GTA 3 and 1 I think were the only one set in the right period for the game release.
I wonder where we will be off too after London (If GTA IV is there)

If so, London would hopefully be just one of more cities. I like the thought of London as an european city you can travel too, but I sure hope there will be other countries to visit too.

They never actually have real places anyway, just fictional representations of somewhere. Like San Francisco or LA. And the radio stations have been music which represents the time frame the game is set in, not the place. Other than that i'd hope it wasn't set in London.

Like I said, it is a big hint, but its way too early to even assume it will be in London.

I trust your judgement, I'll have to check it out when I get my PC back from wherever it's getting repaired...
Bleh.. Why London? I've played The Getaway and the city just felt boring and dull.

Couldn't agree with you more, tbh, but you can't complain about the cutscenes. Owned.
