Sony have delayed the PS3 (http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=664 4)in all PAL regions untill March 2007, and let me be the first to say " Dam you Sony why is it always us you **** suc**** peices of ****" with that out of the way i'm thinking of paying for an American console to be shipped here, and im gonna pay in full right now. Hopefully i get one before they're sold out.

Same here. I was going to wait until GTAIV comes out because I really have no interest in any Launch Title. But this also means I wouldnt be paying $1000 for a PS3. But now the prices wont drop as much. Still. Why will there be such a big gap between NTSC and PAL. Probably production reasons. Still love Sony though.
Just thought i'd also let anyone who's interested know Play.com (http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/1032615/-/Product.html?searchstring=PS3&searchsource=0)has the new release date set for 7/3/07 its probally not 100% but it might be true.
Ohh and the reason for the delay was there was a shortage in blue laser diode wich are needed for the Blu Ray player.

Why not just keep your money, save up more, and then get a PAL PS3 and all the accesseroies and games that come with it.

I will just wait as i have my PC and 360 to keep me busy in the mean time.

I think what Sony are doing is good. It gives them more time to bust out another 2 million units.
Although, since Christmas is near, more people who would buy a console for a present would now go for an xbox 360 or Wii.

I doubt they'll be able to make another 2 million if the console isn't even finished.

Yeah, if you get an American one, you'll probably just kick yourself when the english one comes out.

Blu Ray Laser problems.
Just read an interview with the Sony Boss Ken Katuragi he said they were shipping 100,000 units into Japan and 400,000 units into America so it looks like their will be murders in Japan this November. Also they are still on track to ship 7 million consoles by the end of 2007.

It's 6 million by March 07.
yeah i just read that too, i wonder if that 6 milllion includes the launch consoles for PAL regions?? I think it would being so high a number of consoles.

Now the US and Japan will get all the buggy consoles, while us europeans will get a flawless one:)

So true. Like the time here in Australia heaps of people thought San Andreas was delayed for 2 weeks. So they went and ordered it from Europe. Turns out ours only came 2 days after the US and the ones who had pre-ordered from Europe were left with nothing while there game was still being delivered. 5 days later it came. Sure it dosnt sound that long, but with how excited everyone was about San Andreas it was the kiss of death. Anyway I sort of trailer off and this has nothing to do with the topic.
But yeah Id rather get a perfect console than a shoddy one.

It won't be flawless, Sony always releases dodgy first consoles. It's the way it is. Doesn't matter though, becauseI doubt it will have games that overheat itself.

Shit I don't think it'll be as dodgy as the first 360s. Infact now that I think about it, they may work out most the bugs prior to PAL regions getting theirs.

Sony sytems go through a longer testing cycle than Microsoft systems do. Ans as of now, they are able to test PS3 for problems even without the Blu-Ray drive. I doubt the system will be as problematic in the first three months as the 360 was.
