View Full Version : VCS Official Site Update: Coming Tonight?

Every true GTA fan understands Rockstars schedules and methods. Being a true GTA fan, it seems logical that we could be seeing an update to the official VCS site tonight, as it's the last day of August, and Rockstar always has their first site update for a GTA game in late August, then September, then the weekend before the release on the following Tuesday, and always includes a trailer! I'm expecting one around 6:00 - 8:00 tonight (EST). If not then, this coming Labor Day weekend.

BUT remember, This time around Info has been released MUCH later than usual, R* delayed info leaking out due to all the court cases at the start of the year, This time last year There were many more Digital Screenshots of LCS floating the net and i think the Official site was already up with some info and sound clips etc.

Just because they're late on info doesn't mean they won't continue their usual methods and have a late site update.

I hope they update the site. We've been waiting for way to long now. If the trailer does come out, I'll be watching it at least 100 times. Man, I'm so excited about this game.

Goddammit Slim. You got me soo excited. I saw the first part of the thread on the main page. VCS Official Site UP Wow it was exciting.
Anyway you make a great, valid point. I hope the site updates sometime this weekend. I hate to speculate but I seriously hope its true. In fact now that all the magazines for the month have been released I cant see it Not being this weekend.
I dont see a chance that the page will be updated tonight. Most likely, it will be this Saturday (2nd Sept.) or the next one (9th Sept.).
If you recall from the LCS period, the 1st update was made on around 9/10th sept. It was released in 25th October in US, thought that was due to a delay I guess. UK people had it around the November.
You cant guarantee that R* wont do the same with VCS.

We got it a week after the US, The LCS release date was November 8th.

Oh yeah, One of the GTA games was November 8th though, i think it was the original Vice City, I remember leaving school early to get it on the day it came out.

The program would seem more useful if it told you when the site would be updated. Otherwise you can just go to the site and check... unless of course, it showed updates that aren't yet shown on the site, but files on their FTP.
Well then you need a future telling maching instead. :p
And I'll go crazy if I go to the site and press F5 all the day - when this application will notify you whenever any alteration is made to the page source.
Most likely this tool works in this way, It is taking the 'snap' at the page source every minute and storing it in "snap.txt". Whenever the page source is altered, the application will trigger the alerm.mp3.

Have fun, I my self may not be home to see the new update. As I have places to go, and People to see.
As I said earlier, update should come tommorow (saturday) or the next saturday (september 9th).
Like R* held the fashion of updating LCS website in 3 weeks interval, my current assumptions for the dates of upcomoing 3 updates are 2nd September, 23rd September and 14/15 October (just before release)

Exciting Times! Just think in the next few hours (or at worst, next week or so) we will be seeing VCS in action, possibly even hearing some voice actors or music from the soundtrack!!!

They never have much in the first trailer. Just some of the game in action. Its still awesome though. The second and third trailers are the ones that really get me pumped.

The second trailers (well except GTA3 and LCS) have always been the Official ones which get shown on TV and stuff, e.g. for Vice City the music played in the trailers was I Ran, whilst with San Andreas it was Welcome To The Jungle. The second trailers always have more action in them, with LCS they released them the wrong way round IMO.

I'm a bit surprised that the site isn't even updated. I remember when Vice City was getting closer, they already had the teaser trailer in August, then the official trailer in September, and so on.
September has just begun and I hope that a trailer appears these coming days.

I don't think there will be any Teaser sites, Remember this is based in 1984 and the Internet wasn't around that much so we can't expect any spoof websites such as ammunation, Lips 106, pets overnight, etc. The most we can hope for is a site like Kent Pauls which gives a look back to that era and list some events which happened and stuff.

But with SA they had all this little information. And all the small vids. I loved that way of promoting a game.
I hope with GTA 4 they will do the same thing as with SA.

I used it, and it did give me an update, that the backgorund had change from black to white. I thought it was something else

Apparently I forgot the first LCS site update was later than San Andreas'. So Hopefully Saturday (tomorrow) or Sunday, if not then, sometime this upcoming week or weekend. I'm excited for the theme song :) Vice City's was great :D

I also beleived that the trailer would be released today. But Then I realized that the LCS trailer was released Friday, september 9th, 2005. Next Friday is the 8th of September '06. I beleive the trailer will be released then. :lick: Can't. Fucking. Wait. :lick:

at least 2, most of the time 3.
It will be shame if they have just 2 trailers (i.e. 2 updates, in other sense) for VCS, where LCS had 3.
Now, I think the next update will be on the next weekend, most chances for Saturday, September 9th.
9th Sept. -> 30th Sept. -> 21st October - are the probable dates if R* holds their 3-weeks interval fashion in updating. (Right, I smell a delay about the release.)

I've smelt a delay before VCS was even announced. There was a delay for SA, and then again for LCS, both a one week delay for a release on the following Tuesday. Tuesday, October 24th, 2006, is my guess.

It might, it all depends on wether Rock* even have a Trailer for the game yet.
As Take-2 has already planned to release VCS in their 4th Quarter (August-October), the release date shouldnt go in November.

Take-2's new fiscal year begin on this 1st November with Quarter 1.

you can't really assume a site update is comin based on how rockstar did stuff in the past cuz they've really changed their gameplan around thanks to that dumb hot coffee scandal. obviously we'll have a trailer before the game comes out, but don't get all excited that it might come tonight because it's only going to disappoint you when it doesn't.

But Holy Crapper its expected of R* to lay some kind of crap in our path to the game. Lol
