Reports are flying, just flying across the internet about Dead Rising wrecking 360s. The symptoms are what we've come to expect: freezing, audio dropping out, graphical glitches, etc. Is it just us, or does this sound all too familiar? We're not saying it's all coincidence, but it seems like every time a popular game comes out, 360s just start breaking all over the place -- Perfect Dark, Oblivion, Chromehounds, Dead Rising, all of them seem like Xbox poison. We're willing to bet that this is more indicative of an overall flaw in our favorite console (or at least a certain portion of them.).
=\
Seems like a lot of commenters are also getting the same problems.
That's Microsoft's punisment for rushing a product onto the market. Now let's cross our fingers the extra year does PS3 good.
Good thing I'm getting a 360 later.
I was gonna think over heating but they fixed that problem ages ago didn't they

Yeah, I think overheating is the culprit here. Each 'popular' game coming out nowadays uses more and more power from the 360's CPU and GPU for it's AI, gameplay, and graphics, overall, generating more heat, and more wreckage.
That, or the game developers are purposely planting malware in the discs to detract popularity from the Xbox 360 :P
That, or SC snuck into the Xbox 360 manufacturing plants as a foreign exchange student and replaced the heatsinks with blocks of cheese.
If it is overheating in this case, I'm pretty sure they have a product that can help it. An intercooler of some sort, not exactly sure what it is called.

Ugh, why must the great games have these defects...
Dead Rising is wicked. Maybe the 600+ zombies on the screen at a time has something to do with it

The 360 couldn't handle the physics of a few zombies? :zero:

I think Microsoft said that it only happens with older models of the 360. Thats not the case though because my friend brought one, 2 weeks ago, and his doesn't work with it. I have a older model and mine works fine.

Go figure, stuff like this always happens on early models. Just look at the PS2.

No spam, but still lol irl.
I have both PDZ and DR and I have not experienced overheating at all. PDZ would often freeze, but the disc was scratched from it not being put back in the case (Gg dad ). I ran it through a disc fixer and it worked fine.
And besides, anyone who bought/ is buying a Xbox 360 within the last 4 months shouldn't have any problems.

Dead Rising is literally the ONLY game people talk about at school. They just can't get enough of the comical gore.

That is one of the best games I have played in my life.
