I am getting the GTA DP on Xbox in 4 days and I was wondering if you can get everycar into a garage, or do you have to limit yourself and choose only a few? And does GTA 3 have garages?:)

:evil3: I never got a ps2 and my comp is crappy.

And what one should I play first?:violent:

BTW COOL SMILIES!:finger:

play gta3 first.
in gta3 i think there are only a few (3?) garages.
you can squeeze any number of cars inside.

for vice city, there are many more garages, but you can only force a maximum of four cars in. any more and they get erased.

by forcing (both games) i mean tricking the door into staying open, then fitting the car in.

GTA3 has 3 garages, indeed. The first one can only have 1 car, the second one 6 (2 without a trick), and the last one can have 3 (I think 6 with a trick)

Vice City has many garages. I thought 11.

i was just thinking about which one would be better to play first, i think it would be better to play vc first even though its better than gta3 by vehicles and more things you can do in the game. But if you play gtavc first you learn the characters before you play in gta3 like phil, donald love, forelli family... when you get to gta3 you know why phil is missing his (not goping to spoli the game for you) etc. So if i had the chance i would definetly play vc first even though when you grt to gta3 it would seem like a sucky game with less cars no motorcycles, graphics are worse then gtavc thenyou can see the changes from the old version cars to the newer ones

You forget that in the Double Pack this will no longer be an issue :)

Oh man I cannot wait to play GTA 3, it will fucking pwn me all over again. Oh man. Who cares about VC. I want to relieve fall of 2001, but with its beautiful graphical enhancements :)

The GTA3 graphics are nice too. It makes the city darker. That's just what GTA3 needs. Vice City is a sunny city. The graphics are more colored and more detailed.

:D Thanks guys. The wierd thing is that I haven't found any garages in Vice City yet. Do you have to unlock the bridges first and when does that happen? :wtf:

Jeeze I wish I could play alot but MY TV died so I can't play it when the others are being used, which is all the time lol. Should I play GTA3 first? My friends came over and we tried both (I just got it yesterdaycouldn't play then cuz of too much hw), and that limited my time because I had to share. I got bored of GTA3 already. The city's bland, repititive etc.

yea i dont really like the fact that liberty city is so dark, that was a turn off for me, vice city was much brighter, making it more pleasable to the eye, which makes it one of the reasons why its better IMO

I wouldn't have thought there was any contest as to which to play first. GTA3! You'll enjoy it far more if you play it first, as you will all of VC's enhancements when you finally play that.

I think I actually prefer VC so far....maybe. The music is far better and everything seems to be more plot driven, which I enjoy.

But anyway, I'd still play GTA3 first, just to have things proper like.

because it was less detailed. so i play older games first. it just seems "right," right?

Hold it guys! You have to understand that GTA3 and Vice City have different advantages over each other, such as Liberty City being a New York-style city with lots of traffic and highways and many different things mentioned above and Vice City having pleasant atmosphere and many different things. I haven't played GTA 3 for a while, busy playing Vice City and also because I only have one memory card I can only use for one game (Not fair! LOL just kidding), I believe. I was hoping to get 3 new memory cards (One for GTA3 and two in preparation for possible San Andreas expansion pack and Sin City, although it's still unconfirmed but I'll be ready :) ). I actually liked the fact about Vice City that you can actually buy or acquire real estate since I'm big on real estate (One of many reasons I also have SimCity series from Classics to SimCity 4: Rush Hour, such unusual combination of having GTA3/ViceCity and SimCity but that's me :) ). I hope that next GTA will have real estate once again and maybe improved upon "boldy where no one has gone before" ;)

I thoguht it was pretty stupid because in Vice City, at Sunshine Autos, the garages look like they could hold AT LEAST 4 cars, but the game only lets you hold 2! Stupidity I say!

Don

Just do the trick to put more cars in the garage.

But I agree, The game should allow every amound of cars in a garage, it just has to fit. Even if the garage is full, the doors should open for another car.

Actually, have you thought about how much memory it would require if that happened? Do you realize that Vice City game itself is almost double the size of GTA 3 and thus more memory required. Memory card is kind of like removable storage disk (like floppy disk) and Vice City CD is, well, obviously CD-ROM or DVD. But DVD or CD-ROM stores data such as models and others but on other hand, memory cards stores data that records what you have done, such as stats and what cars are in garage that you put in and etc. As you can imagine, memory cards is more limited in terms of storage space available than CD-ROM. CD-ROMs have larger storage space available than memory cards but are more difficult to write to since ROM stand for read-only memory I believe. It can only write once and then read it only afterward. But on other hand, memory cards can be written to and read many times. But it have limited space to store data. So that's reason Rockstar Games have to limit the amount of data. It's really tight. It have to decide whether it can have more garages, sacrificing for other datas such as stats code and colors of cars, or it can limit numbers of it and allocates remaining possible space to other data, such as what mission is completed, etc. The reason GTA3 is smaller than Vice City is that they only had learned how to compress textures, which by the way takes lot of spaces, at the late stage of GTA3 development, so it was too late to make such changes to GTA3 but they used that texture compression to Vice City, which greatly increased space available but it doesn't eliminates limits either. Limit's still limits. Also, it doesn't even changes limit imposed by current space limits of PS2 memory cards. So blame it on Sony if you want. But there's good news. . . soon (I don't know how soon it will be) Sony is developing the next Playstation, the third one, and it will be bigger, badder, and etc. :) But don't expect it to come at the time when San Andreas or whatever it is comes out so limit's still there.

I don't like fitting so many cars in just a few garages, I put 2 trucks in my Sunshine Autos garage and my LineRunner disappeared, must be another glitch because the trucks too up almost all the space in the garage so it got erased but I liked to drive big trucks a lot so I'm not sure about putting 3 to 5 cars in just one garage.

Hmm . . . that feedback might be useful for Rockstar when designing next GTA: San Andreas. Try emailing them about it and they might consider that so they won't see that glitches again in next Grand Theft Auto game. Oh that apply to other people having any problems or whatever too. I do experienced some glitches but I'm sure that glitch I had was already reported anyway. But try emailing them about it. It's a good try to do. :)
