Certainly looks better than the last one they showed.

I liked the black background better. Although i do like the PSP-esque UI.

Just as a note, this is the developer kit UI which runs on firmware .85. The final PS3 UI will have many more options on it (music, movies, internet, etc..) and you will be able to change you background like on the PSP.
The E3 UI demonstration is a much better representation of what we will see in the final PS3.

Another beautifully functional user interface from Sony. On the final PS3 it might even be as good as in their amazing SonicStage software.

Being a sarcastic forums troll is bad, k Fox?
Unless you actually like this, which is unlikely. If the 360 interface is so much more amazing and easy to use, let's hear your reasons why.

Trolling? I like to be succinct wherever possible, and I felt post #5 achieved that.
I've been through the interfaces of various devices and software applications before, including a reasonably thorough analysis of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3's from multiple perspectives. I'm not going to hunt down the posts but you definitely didn't have any legitimate counter-points to my evaluation.
But yeah. All he does is bash anything other than the 360 in general games chat. He sounds like Neil, with some of his arguments. :P
The initial criticism is inherently pharisaical but I won't trouble myself with that. Where your cute little comparison falls down is that Neil doesn't make solid points. I'm sure you read the last thread I posted in (not that I'm short of examples but I don't have the time to scour my posting history) - http://www.gtagaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7 6080 - so I'm surprised (well, not really, I know better) that you'd liken us two.

Fox, get off these forums.

Yeah, it's nice and simple. And I expect you'll be able to add in your own background as well. I wonder how Linux ties into all of this, though =\
One things for sure, this really does interest me, even though it isn't the final version. Once we get closer to launch and more things are revealed, I'm sure I'll be addicted, especially if it has Keyboard and Mouse enabled.

I'm comparing you to Neil because:
1. Both of you make "points" that bearly anybody else agrees with (and, quite frankly, find absurd in many cases.) Like trying to convince people that no online gaming is free to the user, despite the fact that most PC gamers don't pay for online. I mean come on...
2. Just like Neil, you look for any flaw in anything Sony-related, yet I havn't seen you or Neil agknowlege a single flaw of the 360. I don't have a problem saying that the PS3 online service might not be as comprehensive as Live, or that PS3 is expensive for a game console. All systems have flaws, but you both fail to see the flaws of your own system, despite what developers and users have expressed.
3. Both of you get pissed off and flame people when they don't agree with you or see your point. I know it can be frustrating when people don't get your point, but is that a reason to flame them?
4. You were both perma-banned for the reason above.
Anyway, back on topic tbh. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfpjOlfTdCg) is what we will see. IGN is a little missleading in that video.

I thout those were the devkit interfaces? =\
@Olin and Fox: Don't run the topic over with useless flames. Even if you do, at least say something related to the topic at hand, like I did. That way, this thread won't turn into an unneeded flamefest. And if it does, we'll still have something related to the topic to argue about :P
SCON, do you SERIOUSLY see any flaming in this thread other than Piggus calling youknowwho a troll? Even then, that's not even flaming.

Hey, do you REALLY have problems with suggestions? Even if there are no flames in this thread, there's bound to be some, in the direction that you've tilted it.
Calm down, lad. Chances of this thread being turned into more than a tiny quarrel are minimal unless someone feels the need to prove they're a big man on this vast internet. Being only slightly off-topic isn't a crime in this oh-so-precious PS3 thread.
And please don't act as though Fox somehow started all this. He's only defending himself.

Don't call him Neil, we don't want to say things we can't take back. Anywho interfaces don't make a lick of difference to me. Unless they're bad to the point of being intrusive it doesn't matter what they look like.

1. Both of you make "points" that bearly anybody else agrees with (and, quite frankly, find absurd in many cases.) Like trying to convince people that no online gaming is free to the user, despite the fact that most PC gamers don't pay for online. I mean come on...
Would you care to explain the significance in this case of making points that other people don't agree with (for comparison's sake I've already pointed out why this doesn't hold water but otherwise the criticism just...isn't bad criticism)? In this case you're actually completely wrong - it's a shame you didn't really understand (Shadow Conception did, get him to explain on MSN or something) the thread I linked you because it's a matter of fact, not an absurd viewpoint. In short, the point was that almost all online PC gaming constitutes a paid-for experience - I hate to repeat myself so I suggest you re-read that thread until you understand. It is something you need to take on board to allow you to fully understand online gaming.
I'm entitled to my own opinion as far as that goes - if you somehow believe that an individual's specific criticism is void unless they've submitted posts to support alternative views then firstly I'd refer you back to the start of the second block paragraph in post #7, and secondly I'd like to let you know you're absolutely wrong.
3. Both of you get pissed off and flame people when they don't agree with you or see your point. I know it can be frustrating when people don't get your point, but is that a reason to flame them?
You're being much less specific than necessary here (or simply failing to acknowledge the actual contents of such threads). Technically you're completely wrong. I don't initiate flaming out of the blue.
4. You were both perma-banned for the reason above.
Therefore you're incorrect.
I shouldn't really be fielding these responses because I know I'm largely wasting my time (and was perfectly entitled to make post #7, blasphemous as you may see it) but point-by-point rebuttals are fun.

@iluvgta2
Stop with the argument posts. It's spamming the thread
@Piggus
He is entitled to an oppinion. Even if it's a slanted one. If you don't like it, suck it up.
<ontopic> I want to get my hands on a dev kit, just to play with the UI.</ontopic>
** Sorry to act like a mod or admin, but it's annoying when a perfectly good thread gets spammed up by people arguing like kids.
Looks too simple, yeah it's nice but I prefer the 360's layout.

I seriously don't get why people moan about the interface :P
It's not like you're going to look at it for hours..
You need it to start a movie/play music/start up a game/etc , not to look at for ages.

I actually like the interface. It's plain and simple and matches the PSP.

In all honesty, who cares? Gameplay is all that matters to me. And for $600.00, it better be fucking fantastic.
As for the layout, I salute Sony for their simplicity.
