I was listening to V Rock, and Mitch called in for Lazlow to play harder rock. And he says, "I didn't fight and kill for this country to listen to sissy rock" or something along them lines. Wasn't Vic in the army, or is it SWAT? I'm wondering if this is how Mitch was invited to VC, by Vic? Buddies in the service?

Its already known that Vic and Lance arnt exactly on friendly terms with the bikey gang in the city so i highly doubt he's friendly with Mitch

How do you know they're not friendly at the beginning, if Lance did something stupid and wrecked the relationship?

Good point. It just never mentioned they were friends and I guess I jumped to some conclusions. Maybe they were friends. I personally dont think Vic served in Nam (where Mitch did). However another friendship could be between Phil and Vic. Phil was said to be in the army (Never mentioned Marines though).

Phil was in Vietnam also.

He never said he was in Vietnam. Check official sites or Vice City mission cutscenes/scripts, there's no mention of it.
Though in GTA III, he said that he lost his arm when he was sent to a war in Nicaragua (which happened in the early 80's), though we all know that he lost his arm in Vice City.

a bit OT, but Tommy Vercetti was also in Vietnam and he was taken prisoner there, he talks about it in the mission Messin With The Man. i dont think that Vic and Mitch Baker were in the army at the same time. Mitch is considerably older then Vic, BTW NICE FUCKIN SIG Victem.

Why thankyou. However Tommy was never in Vietnam. He went to prison because of a massacre at the Harwood Ferry Station (Not going into details). However Mitch mentions fighting and being betrayed by his country, which is when Tommy says, "I was in Prison during Nam." Not meaning He was locked up because of something which had happened in Vietnam, but meaning he was in prison in Liberty City and he missed the whole Vietnam fiasco. I can see were you went wrong.

TOMMY: I was locked up during 'Nam. Ugly business.

He was never taken to Vietnam anyways, he most probably was sent to a jail in LC back in the 70's - you know, he used to be called 'Harwood butcher' and he had no record to be involved in any international affairs.

Edit: oh, didnt refresh the page.

So these 3 characters never saw each other through the army?

Sorry forgetting what Mitch said to Tommy in the bar and saying about the VRock thing, I haven't beat VC in awhile.

We arn't certain they don't know each other. We just have a really basic outline of it at the moment. For all we know Phil and Vic are best mates. I mean Phil is confirmed to be in the game. He was seen in the loading screens so he must play a rather large role.

Hopefully larger than his role in LCS and Hopefully voiced by Gary Busey again.

I always liked Phil. He was a good character. He had my vote for main lead before the information started popping up aswell.

Phil said he was in Vietnam during some of his missions in VC. "Haven't had so much fun since the ridge in 'Nam, pal" and "Too many cops and Viet Cong".

.

oh, i figured that he was in nam somtime during the start of the war, got taken prisoner and then rescued somtime during the late sixties, came back and comitted the whole harwood massacre, and then was sent to jail in 71, because he says "Ugly Buisness" after "I was locked up during 'nam", i dont know whats so ugly about not having to go to the worst war we ever fought.

also Phil makes numerous claims of Charlies in the Treeline, Charlie was the nickname fore Vietcong.
