If the rumor is true then that's great, Manhunt is one of my favorite games. Would definitely love a second, and no I wasn't informed of this until just now. Although, I did hear earlier rumors way back but never really believed it.
Posted the more detailed information posted on the forum for those who aren't registered or don't want to register.
As most of you know, getting information for anything related to a second Manhunt game is next to
impossible. I, myself have spent hours searching the web and attempting to contact over 50 different
key contacts that may have some information for us via e-mails and blogs. I will admit that the only
real tangible information I found was completely by accident in the form of the James Urbaniak
information leak in his blog. Since that find, I have had no luck getting any response to any of my
e-mails or posts.
The past few days it seems that some new information is beginning to get closer to release. There
have been some news updates and posts added recently by Pogo and Lazlow and it appears that
we may be close to something official. I have also very recently been contacted by a source and
have opened an extensive dialogue with him. I will not be able to disclose any information on this
source as there are many legal issues involved and I gave my word. I was given the opportunity to
get information in the form of a detailed question and answer format. I asked over 20 specific
questions regarding the next Manhunt game. I tried to cover all the important issues that I thought
all the members would like to know based on what I have read in all the past forum posts. I was
able to get answers to all of my questions. Most of the answers were pretty straight forward with
not much in the form of details, but I was able to get specifics on a few items.
Anyone who is a long term forum member knows that I am perhaps one of the most critical and
skeptical members here when it comes to anyone posting information without a library of proof and
evidence. This said, I will have to tell you that to the best of my knowledge, I do believe this source
is legitimate based on several factors. Everything seems to be in place with nothing suspicious.
The situation that the sources are in will not allow them to provide anything that will be able to be
traced back to them and therefore, they are very limited to the kind of proof of credibility that they can
provide. Several of these reasons were explained to me and I understand why certain things were
said in the matter that they were stated in some of our previous annonymous forum members.
Knowing how skeptical I am, I have went as far as to request visuals for proof. The source has
claimed to have early design screenshots in his possesion but cannot provide them due to legal
issues that would directly link him as the source. Maybe at some later point he can provide a visual
but at this time it is not possible. The source was also aware of the 'deepthroat' posts which you
are probably all aware of. I was one of the members that immediately demanded proof from that
member and we got very little in return other than extremely vague answers in the form of riddles.
I told this source right from the start that I was not interested in that kind of vague and useless
information and that I was only interested in straight forward answers and no riddles to decipher.
He told me that although 'deepthroat' may have given his answers in an extremely vague manner,
that everything he said was in fact true. At this point I provided over 20 questions and received
answers to all of them. Here is all the information that I have obtained through my dialogue with
the source and I summed up all of the answers into these 19 :
1. The closing of the Vienna office directly affected the game development schedule.
2. The game is not 100% certain to be released even if completed due to Rockstars policy of never
releasing any games that are not up to thier standards of quality.
3. The game is probably finished by another studio since the Vienna closing.
4. The game is a whole new 'manhunt' and not a sequel or prequel.
5. Cash will not be part of the game.
6. None of the other original or unused characters from the original will be part of the game.
7. There are all new hunters.
8. The final title has not been decided yet.
9. The game will not be set in Carcer City again.
10. The game will be set in a new fictional city based on New Orleans.
11. The release date is not known by the source.
12. The game will be on current generation consoles.
13. It is unknown if the game will be exclusive to one console or available to all.
14. There are a lot of new features in the game including the following:
-you can climb obstacles (walls, fences, etc. like in SanAndreas).
-you can crouch.
-you can climb through holes and tunnels.
-you can jump and dive.
-you can execute hunters using the environment ( a meat hook on the wall ).
-you can execute hunters from a jump (different animation ).
-you can destroy lamps on a wall, creating safe areas.
-you can execute hunters using guns.
-you can pour gasoline from the can and execute hunters that walk over it by throwing a match.
-many new weapons and associated features in addition to these.
15. The game development was started in early 2004.
16. The game is completed or very near completion at this time.
17. There are several Rockstar employees and sources on the forum ( silent observers ).
18. None of the members ideas for the game from the forum were close to the actual game.
19. Despite my "snuff magazine" teaser, the next Manhunt has nothing to do with snuff films and is
a completely new story and premise.
One additional update just received sometime last night that I need to post. I believe all the members comments has possibly prompted this additional info. Here it is in the exact words of the contact person as I received it:
"It's technically still the same game. Without snuff and a director, you just have to come up with a different story to give the main character a reason to kill. Which is challenging and interesting. Doing the snuff thing again would've been boring, since MH did that already very well."
That is all of the information I was given. I will try to keep a dialogue open with the source and
hopefully time and circumstances will allow him to provide me with addtional details. I will expect
everyone to be very skeptical of any or all of this information since it is all provided annonymously.
I can only tell you that I do believe it to be credible from what I know. Only time will reveal if it is
legitimate.
If this is true, then I now really have a game to look forward to. Some things like Cash supposedly not in the next one does put me down, but I guess I could adapt to a new character.

Before anybody says manhuntuncut could be bullshitting, they're not. I'm on their forums.
Also, there was this blog of somebody saying something about recording dialogue way back for manhunt. That was removed after manhuntuncut posted the blog link.

I now know what it was that was posted they had a list of more voice actors saying they recorded the dialogue for it and named them they where then told by rockstar to remove it. That doesnt make sense to hide the game though unless it has been cancelled maybe? 5tatic do you know what or whos blog it was? Was that awhile ago?
Here is a quote from one of the voice actors
"Ya know--it had to be about 8 months ago or so. To tell the truth, I don't remember the name of the character, but he was a straight-jacket lunatic, and the script was waaaay out there. Spooky and f**ked-up for sure. I remember the director telling me that this sequel was going to be much darker and bloodier that the original. And you all know that's a helluva claim."
I hope someone is able to find the rest of what was said

If this new Manhunt is more violent than the first one, then its worth buying before it gets banned, what's the fucking point in releasing games, then banning them months later...its shite imo.
It would be great if Manhunt 2 came :D:D::D:D

Manhunt 2...I heard there was gonna be a sword in MH2. Can you say, "Fuck yes"? And without Carcer City, we can add a new city based on New Orleans...hopefully Katrina-free.
