lmfao Wii is micro compared to everything else. But yeah, I expected the PS3 to be bigger than the rest. And honestly, I have no idea why.
Its not really huge.
Jeez, oh booo hooo, it dont look good under a HDTV. So. You could have one hell of a powerful PC in a crappy case, dont make it shit.

I can't stand xbox cuz everybody i know that has a xbox is ignorant i say Sony is awesome i wuz about to get the 360 cuz the PS3 was to high but you know what it going to be a huge hole in my wallet but i'm gettin the PS3 no questions about it. I like big things so i have no problem about it being so big.

Ignorent huh? I got an xbox becuase I wanted to. I'm going to get a 360 first because I want to. PS3 will come after a huge price drop. Having an Xbox doesn't automatically make you an ignorent Micorsoft fanboy. I own an Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube. I got the PS2 first.
I also don't see Sony donating 500 million dollars to AIDS research, but that's more or less irrevelent in this discussion.

Ironically that was incredibly ignorant. Yeah it's prety effin huge, honestly though, it's gunna be in your room/apartmant, and if you get a case to carry it around in, you'll be fine, so it doesn't really matter. I'd rather it be big and not overheat or break easy, than be small, compact, & breakable.

The PS3 is much sleeker than the Xbox. Even you can't deny that. :P

The other thing I should be quick to piont out is the PS3 has an internal power supply and the 360's is a huge power brick that all of you 360 owners found out about quickly after openeing the box. So that's another reason why the PS3 is bigger.

I liked the Xbox's design. Very beefy and durable.

that brick (power supply) pissed me off its massive and you cant hide it under shit otherwise apparently the console will overheat so it sits on my t.v. cabinet next to my 360 for the whole world to see.

Same with me, man. I got my PS2 first, then my Xbox, and then a Gamecube. Also, DAMN! The PS3 is frickin' huge!!! BTW, the original Xbox had an internal hard drive, also contributing to that console's size.

When did I say they shouldn't be compared? I was just giving the reason why PS3 is larger. Hardware like this requires a big PSU.
But the point is not of WHY it's bigger, just that it is bigger. That's all people will see and thus that's all that matters.

The original Xbox had no attempt at looking nice. It simply was what it looked like: a watered down (in terms of functionality) PC. Now, by looking at the PS3, sure it's huge, but at least it tries to look nice. You can tell by looking at the convex shape that they didn't just manufacture killer hardware and just stuff it in an ugly old box.
Oh wow the shape means it's good. I'm going to manufacture a console that looks like a grill and it'll be the best thing ever. Seriously now, the PS2 was fucking ugly. The PS2 slimline was fucking ugly. The Xbox wasn't something to stare at either and the PS3 probably looks the ugliest just because it's shiny. It's like shining up a fat woman's ass and having it sit on your floor or entertainment center to stare at you while you play your games with omgamazinggraphics.
I'm not fond of the 360's design, but at least I can quite tolerate having out in the open.

Nope, it is what it is: a big, black box with a green logo slapped on the middle. You can't argue that. Definitely not an attempt at looking nice, unless you find boxes incredibly unique.

Both of you make great points but its all down to personal preference i like the look of both consoles although i like the PS3 better but thats because i dont mind abit of bling. But like shadow i hate the boxy look of the Xbox and i think its the ugliest by far but then again the PS2 didn't look to nice either but atleast it was sleeker (my opinion dont flame me for it)
Also Olin when you say shiny are you talknig about the chrome strip on the console or how shiny the whole console is because i noticed the whole case looks like it could be doubled as a mirror.
The entirety of the console. Sony paid raccoons to design it.
LOL yeah it does look wierd i thought the same about the 360 but i dont mind the look of it now that i've seen it in the flesh after all their only for games not for beauty pagents.

It's nothing like a fucking pc, the XBOX has more in common with the PSP in terms of functions and capabilities. & everything is made too look good, whether you like it or not, someone designed that box, and thought it was nice, and the people at Microsoft were impressed. Whether you think it looks good or not is not the point, the point is, it's looks contributed to the way is marketed, fact, becuase everything is marketed that way.
The XBOX doesn't look that bad, yeah the PS3 looks better, but sony fanboys will use whatever excuse they want, even if it means contridicting the last thing they said, which is what Olin was getting at. Everyone slated XBOX cause it was huge, now if anyone says the same about PS3, you act as though he's shat on your living room floor.
It's aload of bullshit from sony fanboys to be honest. Every console has good or bad points.

The PS3 looks like the George Foreman I have in kitchen. The 360 on the other hand, actually looks like a gaming console. But, looks aren't always everything. The PS3 might have somewhat of a hardware advantage, but why would Sony go up in size. The other consoles have shrunken and the PS2 did as well when it was "Slimlined". Now look at PS3 in comparison to the others.
