I hate to be the bringer of bad news too all those people who dont have psp's. I am one of you aswell so you can mourn with me. But 1Up have revealed that GTA VCS will be absolutley exclusive to PSP and Rockstar have said there will definatley be no relelase for PS2.
Listen to them talking on this. They talk about Bully then after they move to how Vice City Stories will be absolutley exclusive to PSP with no Ports whatsoever!

Apparently VCS will be better now that there will be no port for PSP because it can focus more on using PSP technology. This makes no sense because R* never had any intentions to make LCS into a PS2 game while they were making it. I remember back then it was PSP exclusive aswell.
Maybe there still is light at the end of the tunnel for PS2 owners and those who cant afford PSP's. Lets just hope that light isn't the light you walk into before you die!

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched and all that... It seems odd that they would announce this when "exclusive" has always meant "exclusive for the first 8 or so months" for GTA.
Perhaps it's true because they want to move their focus away from PS2 and onto PS3/XBox360 projects... who knows.
I'll be a wait and see kind of guy for this one.

They (Rockstar) lie about everything. Every GTA is always "exclusive" then it makes its way around to other consoles and PC. But something about this one makes me think that there's a slight possibility that it could stay only on PSP.
Well, Rockstar never said they were never gonna port with the other games.... I can't recall them ever releasing an Audio clip saying they aren't gonna port.

they did call it an absolute exclusive, and it would make sense, why would they want to spend there tiime and money rewriting the codes to make it usuable for the ps2 x-box and PC when they should just focus on the GTA IV.

It's not always the case of not being able too afford one , but i for one am not wasting over £200 on a hand held console just to play what is supposed to be an exclusive game , when i could upgrade parts on my beloved, reliable, unrepenting, sexy PC. :P

You can't update the Graphics...You can't change the resolutions.

with a PC it will not lagg or make drawdistanse like youre faraway (PS2 does that not sure w PSP)
With a PC you can set the resolution
With a PC you have a bigger screen
With a PC you can mod
all these PS2 and PSP things is just crap compaired to a PC even if you use a TV screen w PS2 the resolution is still crap and not like a PC screen!
You get a much better and stronger feeling using a big screen, having a small screen feels like playing snake on a nokia phone with the sun on the display.

Some people prefer to use game consoles, I for once Like them all, And I also like the PSP. The graphics are amazing for a handheld system, and I find it very fun to play a Gta game while on a trip or somewhere away from home, The PSP is very handy and an awesome system, yeah I know the price is high for a handheld, so what, it's got amazing features.

I'm not sure the engine that VCS uses would cut it with the critics because many of them have played Oblvion, Half Life 2 and other excellent looking games. But to review something that is even PS2 stanards, wouldn't fair too well. Also, another reason they made this was to explain vice some more. After the release of SA anything that didn't have the scale of SA would be considered a step back, so R* decided to release a couple of games explaining the GTA3 era more. Notice how none of the playable character are new? They are all recycled characters from previous games. These games are simply side stories and snce they are considered a step back they are being released on the PSP.

The PSP is definitelly worth the price, for the graphics and the game's you get from it. Plus all the other cool features. VCS will be the best PSP game since LCS.
PSP is pure crap compaired to a PCAs if you compare a PSP to a PC, PSP is portable i dont think you would be able to strap a computer to your back and play games on the move (you'd need one long ass extention cord).Also a PSP doesn't cost half as much as a PC and your obviously just angry caus you wont have a copy of VCS but thats like comparing food to water!! But if I do get one and they do port it to PS2 I will be that pissed off. I mean im trying to save for a PS3 and Rockstar really arnt fucking helping. And Im not me when I dont have the latest GTA game.
Dude LCS was nothing new. It was GTAIII with VC features... I'm pretty sure VCS will be the same. Blowing 300 on a console for one game is stupid.

I heard a couple of weeks ago it dropped to $149.99, so that might help.
I kinda hope that it's an exclusive for it. I heard when (GTA: LCS) came to the PS2 that the game sucked compared to the version on the PSP. It really is cool playing the game portable and I think Rockstar is doing a great job by releasing GTA games for the PSP.

Try The Sims 2, Socom (Has Online), Outrun 2006 (Has online), Metal Gear Acid 2 (only if you like the MGS series), Tomb Raider, Wipeout, WWE Smackdown... There is plenty of great games, it's just you have to do some serching to find the ones you really like... Also I'd reccommend getting Killzone Liberations when it comes out, it looks like that will be another killer app.

AT LAST ... they invent "PORTABLE" gaming so you can auctually walk out into the sunlight and experience the real life while playing you favorite game.. unlike the freaks that stay on the computer 27-7 .

I'd like to look at it that way aswell, but maybe they'll just let it go this time around due to the new engine porting. It'll be much tougher to bring this one to PS2, I'm assuming.

Wow. It really is true what they say. PC gamers can be total fanboys. Damn you'z oppinionated. To say that a PSP is shit compared to a PC is like saying a cookie is shit compared to a cake. Now cakes are damn awesome, but you can be carrying around a cake all the time. And compared to cookies, cakes can be damn expensive. Basically cookies are like slightly less tasty cakes yet retain the cost. Do you understand now why the PSP isn't shit? Or perhaps i should use guns as a metaphor, since you seem to have plenty of those? Also back on topic, i think it's great that Rockstar is focusing on using the psp to it's full potential rather than trying to see whether they'll be able to port their creation or not. A PSP exclusive GTA would be nice. I mean how is the PSP supposed to sell if they've got the same game on another system and is probably cheaper?

Rockstar Leeds are working on GTA Vice City Stories. Where as Rockstar North will be working on GTA IV. So production of a PS2 version will not affect GTA IV in any way.

Hopefully Rockstar does not change their mind on this one. Honestly, the PS2 is dead right now, and there's no point of releasing it. Also, no PSP has graphics which are as good as the PS2 graphics. It's only the disc which is a problem as they will have to compress the game quite a bit.

Even though the previous GTA games were released on other consoles the fact still remains that they were once exclusives just like they were once new. It is still exclusive for 7 - 8 months and that is a long time. It is not a lie (maybe) and they can change their mine or may be waiting to see the sales figures in order to make a decision on porting the game or not. We all know the game will at least do as well as LCS and it got ported.
I had to wait 8 months but they gave us an LCS PS2 version and I didn't have to buy a PSP because some next gen console cost a lot; that PS3 is looking mighty fine to me right now. I just hope they don't port the game with less features and maybe even enhance the graphics a bit. I do think they may release the game later on to make some more cash for those too poor or unwilling to buy a PSP.
