I just finished beating Vice City again. Well that Cortez call comes where he asks about Mercedes becoming a lawyer and all. Then he states the Minister of Interiors has arrived and that "many years ago, he killed his father in a failed coup". This could basically confirm 100% that Cortez is going to be in VCS, and that either he or someone he hires (Victor?) kills this person.
Just thought I'd point this out :)

i remember this as I play these games soo often. Atm I am playing through them in chronological order of time period (not of when they were released.) But yes I had never thought of this person to be involved in VCS. Thanksheaps.

I think it was announced that Cortez was to be in VCS, with Gonzalez at his side.

I thought it was merely hinted that they would be in there. I haven't heard any confirmation although that phone call in VC could wrap it up :)

I guess we just have to wait and see.
:)
Um.. VC takes place after and that's when they're meeting up. So how could a dead man meet Cortez?

Olin you don't get it.
Okay, Cortez says he's meeting the Interior guy. It was this guy's dad who Cortez had killed. VCS takes place before VC. So maybe we can see how Cortez kills this man's dad in VCS.

How can you be confused? It's not the Minister who get killed, it's his father who Cortez knocks off. Apparently this guy was some big shot in Vice City prior to 1986.

I doubt it'd be 1984, though. 70's maybe, which we may possibly see a GTA title of.
Don't know how I read that wrong..

I dont think if this whole Coup thing has anything to do with VCS storyline. If any sort of Coup happened, that could happen, out side Vice City, in some middle-american country where Cortez came from.

Yeah, true. But then again, it's GTA, so you never know. They're always giving out clues and stuff.

If Cortez said "Many years ago he killed his father in a failed coup" I would think the many in that sentence means more then 2 years previous and doesnt at all confirm his presence in the game. But i think cortez may appear in VCS but just because he said that i wouldn't get to excited i mean every GTA game give us alot of information about most charactor and that doesn't mean they will definately be in a future GTA.

Not that I'm trying to defend my subtle idea, but you're right, many could mean 20-30 years for all we know. But it could also mean just a few. Maybe Cortez didn't want to get too descriptive and said "many" instead of "a couple of years ago".
Well it was just an idea, but since so many people here are thinking negatively and are so close-minded, that's fine. Maybe we'll look back on this and have a good laugh when we see how dumb me even making this thread was. Or, there's that small percentage that this does take place in VCS and I'll say to myself "damn I'm good" :P lol
No i think your right with your assumtion that he'll be in the game i just think that what cortez said doesn't mean it confirms it 100%. But because we seen alot of the origal Big Bosses in LCS it makes me think VCS will have there big bosses return.
EDIT i wonder if Roseberg will be in VCS in some form (even though hes an annoying junkie)
