I would have to guess at it being Short Circuit 2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096101).

Good Lord, thank you!
I was trying to remember the name of that movie a week or so ago and couldn't think of it...but that may be because the only description I could give to ask people was "It had a robot in it who's head looked like a car radio" :P

Now if you would have said it looked like Elton John on a good day , we would have got it right away.

Loved that movies. It helps the 80's come in third on my "Favorite Decades" list (right behind the 50's and FAR behind the 60's)

No.
There's a shot in SC2 where he's 'wheeling' towards a bookstore.
It's the 'World's Biggest Bookstore' in Toronto, just off of the infamous Younge Street.
I was there when they were filming the scene.
Never saw anything though, cos people were waving us back and around the corner.
But it was outside of the store, and the following summer (or thereabouts) the movie comes out, and there's a scene RIGHT in front of the store.
Coincidence?
Possibly.
Man, the 1950's owned the 1960's.
Let's see; the one decade was the one of rebuilding after WWII. Everyone was the government's bitch, women's rights were at a new low, you were forced to work hard at shitty wages, and don't think you had any freedom as a teen. The other decade was one of complete freedom, wealth, good music and love.
...
Oooh, but the cars were better in the 50s, right? So it has to be a better decade!
