I stand by my comments in the other thread, That guy looks like Mitch Baker (On the Bike) and i do think that guy is Umberto, he looks more like his VC Voice Actor this time (Danny Trejo).

One thing I just want to draw that, so far NO GTA BOXART HAD FEATURED THE MAIN CHARACTER.
I mean, Just look at the boxart created for GTA III (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GTA_3), GTA Vice City (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gta_vice_city), GTA San Andreas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gta_san_andreas) and GTA Liberty City Stories (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gta_liberty_city_sto ries) - you'll understand my point.
I think we are yet to know about the Main character.

After looking at this i can safely say that the game will be set in the 80s period looking at the colours. Also the fact that the biker is just one of the biker people from GTA VC.

also to Santos. How do we know the person in that picture isnt Tommy? maybe rockstar are going to try to cover it up somehow but he could have grown a moustache and wearing glasses. He wears the same suit that Tommy has. The Soiree. Sure he looks south american so it could even possibly be a younger Cortez or something.

Edit: I have also heard that the blonde chick definatley looks like Mrs. Shrub, Alex's wife.

Well VC is set in 1986 and Tommy Vercetti had been in prison for 15 years previously , but according to speculation VCS is set in late 70's or early 80's , Tommy was jailed in 1971.

Yeah Clansman I know Tommy was jailed in 71 but im just saying that if the game is set after Vice City in 86 its a strong possibility that its Tommy. But after looking at this boxart I would be surprised if its set after Vice City. Im still hoping to play as Phil.

Edit: I also noticed that each GTA Game boxart has a helicopter in the top right hand corner lol. And all of them have girls (which dont appear in the game, except for Misty on GTA3 box and Maria on LCS box), they all have some of your bosses/friends and they all have cars exploding (with the exception of San Andreas and Vice City Stories) Well that turned out to be pretty pointless but its just a little weird how their all soo similar.

The club, which is most likely a club that we haven't seen before, could be on the location of one of the building sites. If indeed it is a club featured in the game and not just generic background art.

Yeah the infernus is the old look agian. I like the Infernus A lot better in GTA3 and LCS then in Vice City.
If you do play as Tommy the game must still be 1886 or 1987 maybe and it would be continuing his life.
But We don't know who the next charecter is gunna be so we just have to wait.

If you have zoomed enough on that pic, that guy comes up with a hairstyle different than Tommy. And a soiree is less darker than the original one. It could be an unused model in the game or could be Tommy himself - who knows!

Well it is boxart and isnt a actual in-game shot, so thats why the color is different. About the hair, it could be just blowing in the wind.

We havent got any such blurred little character model on VCS boxart so far - who are hard to identify.
Anyways, GTAVice.com has just being updated with some of these comparison. Goes with the same speculation as I posted before i.e. about Mrs. Shrub, Gonzales & Cortez.

To be honest, I don't find anything about the panels to be quintessentially 80s or 70s in style
Top Left Panel: Guy in dark green shirt and light coloured pants. Could be any era, really
Top Right: Biker, fairly generic, and fitting any type of time frame
Middle Left: Closeup on a face. Tells you you nothing.
Middle right: Mustached guy with black shirt and blue jacket. Remember this is Florida, a warm climate where bright clothing would be pretty normal and sensible really in that heat.
Bottom left woman: Most convincing thing, as it does really look like Mrs. Shrub, but the hair and dress aren't what I'd consider 80's-exclusive, and we've seen similar looking cars in later-set GTA games, if I recall correctly.
Bottom Right Woman: Red Bikini and big sunglasses, fairly generic
Guys on the boat: See what I said about middle right.

Don't get me wrong though, late 70s would be possibly quite interesting. It's an era they've not done before, but I'd have to wonder how they'd fit in things like Lazlow (he's pretty much a staple of the series, and in Vice City, it was pretty clear he was new to the town), and wouldn't it possibly limit the weapons and vehicles?

I don't think it's going to be 1989. The biggest clue is the guy on the very bottom holding a gun looks almost like Gonzalez. He died in 1986, meaning he's alive in this game so it's a couple of years before. It could be all the way to the late 70's which would be really cool or early 80's.

After further inspection, I noticed that the two characters at the bottom bare a close resemblance to Colonel Cortez and his right hand man Gonzales. In GTA Vice City, Cortez was forced to leave the city after running into problems with the French, and his no.2 Gonzales was killed during the mission "Treacherous Swine". This means that, if these two characters are definitely who I think they are, then Vice City Stories is set prior to GTA Vice City (late 70s, early 80s perhaps?). Also the fact that Gonzales has a full head of hair in the boxart (whereas in GTA Vice City, he does not) supports this theory.

In the Vice city strategy guide, it sez that that is Sonny Forelli. If you look at the face, it does look like SOnny Forelli because of the wide face both in-game and on that cover-art. It could also be Tommy Though. His hairstyle just looks different because its blowing in the wind and more detailed on the drawings instead of a big block on his head which is in-game. :)

well .. its vice city.. it has to be the eighties some time.. or else it wouldent be vice city.. I think this game is mostly modeled after maimi vice.. which is a black dude and a white dude.. well.. I think it would have to be some time in the eighties even though the main character wont be the same (though i hope it is tommy)..

To Santos - I was just throwing out ideas. And it hasnt been released yet that the game is before Vice City.

To Spike - It would still be Vice City if it wasnt in the eighties. It would just let off a different vibe. Possibly being alot less ambient. Having tommy as a main protagonist again would be a very very big mistake made by Rockstar (dont get me wrong Tommy Kicks Ass) but having Tommy as one of your bosses would be a much much much better idea.

Some guy over the net erased the mustache, but still he doesnt look like Tommy at all. Could be a new character or a character that we have just heard of. (e.g. Giorgio Forelli)

actually I wouldnt mind meeting this Giorgio. But i hope other smaller characters such as Leo Teal and Victor Vance make appearances (but i definately dont want to see Lance.. maybe seeing him in the background while your character talks to Victor would be cool)

Finally some Vice City Stories screens. It looks like an early 90's era. The clothes style looks 80's X'd by 90's, the girl next to the infernus looks 80's but the girl on the right with the glasses look modern. So I'm guessing its set after the Vercettis taking over.

Good point, I can remember that with SA we had many screens before the box art. However I can't really remember what happened with LCS so much...
It's probably something to do with retailers and how the box art needs to be supplied to them a certain time before the game is released. It helps advertising the game in general anyway as people know what to look for on the shelf (or e-shelf).

i remember with SA they released a little bit of info and like 4 screenies. then we had to wait like a month before gamespot and ign started doing their saturday san andreas day thing with a little more each day.
