Well, I just found out my slot is a PCI-E with the help of Shadow Conception :D

So I'm gonna start looking around for a good graphics card and maybe purchase one later this year. So I've found a 1gb graphics card, so it supports the next generation games and maybe the generation after this new generation.

Anybody's recommendations/reviews or whatever on this card and any other good graphics card?

You can check out reviews here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?N=2 010380048+1069609641+1067921729&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=48).

It's an American site, but essentially, the cards are all the same. Click on each video card and check out their reviews. They're all the same video cards, basically. It's just that many have been under/overclocked so they can sell it at a higher price.

I'd also wait until the price goes down a bit. $500+ for a video card is ridiculous, as is £336.10.

Save the 600 bucks and get the 7950 1gb GX2.....

It will play any new game for the next 3 years (maybe)...... It can play FEAR at 90 fps and Q4 at 134 FPS

the bad part about it is that it is capped at 60 FPS...... but some engine hacks could fix that.....

That is the 7950GX2.

Also, the interface isn't 512-bit. It's actually 256-bit. Two 256-bit interfaces don't make a 512-bit interface, according to a Newegg review.

Yeah... most modern high-end cards are GDDR3. Two cards put together would NOT be GDDR6, that's for sure.

Abit expensive don't you think :/

It's ridiculous to pay that much for a videocard, and if your parents pay it wow you're spoiled rofl

Whoa, £336 for that? I think GF7800 still costs that much over here.

nVIDIA 7900GT

256MB or 512MB, a very good card.

Save some money and buy it later this year. DX10 cards should push the price down a lot, although it might be a better idea to wait and get one of them anyway...

You might also want to consider the possibility that the card's overkill (and'll be bottlenecked by the rest of your system)...do you have a fast processor and RAM? If not you can probably save yourself a lot of money. You might want to check that your motherboard will actually support the GX2 (you'll almost certainly have to flash the BIOS even if it is on the compatibility list)

If your other hardware specs aren't great then the 256MB 7900GT, as Scott suggested, should do very nicely.

Get a DX10 card when/if you can. Since games will move to DX10 getting a DX9 card will absolutely blow on DX10 games.

I have one too. Quite good imo. It plays games at decent settings.

If you want that, get the eVGA KO edition, and then overclock it.

And I want this.

Listen to Olin! He's right. An expensive DX9 card right now is about the biggest waste of money on earth. You would be stupid not to wait for the Nvidia 8800 or ATI R600 DX10 cards. They come out later this year, but trust me. It will be worth the wait.
