Character Silence

I just installed GTA San Andreas on a fairly new computer. It works fine almost everywhere, but I still am experiencing one quite big bug. My issue is that during the game the characters do not speak. I hear cars, pedestrians, gunshots etc . . . . but I can not hear any main characters speak. Now I've looked around here and found a tip on sound hardware acceleration, I have brought it down from full to standard but still have to test it.

I am using a Realtek AC97 sound card on an MSI MOBO. I will test the game later today, but if anyone has had the same problem as me and knows a solution please let me know. Thanks a lot.

I think your Audio hardware driver files arent updated enough. Try to install this update to your driver files and report back if that worked out. :)

I got somethin similiar and also I had to do with this stupid sound card: check the frequency of the sound in control panel it may be too high. If you continue to have this problem check your speakers in case you have dolby sorround, if not really dont know.
