San An: Real Strafing

I was curious whether anyone is pursuing a mod that would allow you to walk in a direction without turning towards it, a la standard first person shooter controls. I originally played this game on the PS2, and have recently bought the PC version. Using the San Andreas Advanced Control 1.2, I have successfully mapped my Xbox 360 controller into the game--but I have never been able to get used to third-person controls that force you to face a direction to walk towards it. I'd always been curious why I was having trouble keeping targets, until I realized that I wasn't actually able to strafe (unless locked on with some weapons, and not walking backwards.)

If anyone knows of a way left/right and backwards strafing can be accomplished in the game, please let me know. And if you decide to start working on it...well, thanks.

You mean like in Vice City and GTAIII PC? Don't think there is such a mod, honestly doubt it would happen too. New animations would have to be created for this to work.
