Help! I'm done with vid but it's HUGE! 200+mb

Okay I captured using FRAPS straight from GTA. I didn't do that GTA capture then capture the GTA files using Fraps, so that's why the vid is so huge.

I tried compressing it using VirtualDubMod but It cuts the file in half so only the first half is compressed(@ 80mb)

I haven't tried compressing in Adobe Premiere, How is it done if possible?

If not then is there a site that'll host a 230mb vid????

More importantly, who would want to download a video that big?

I capture using fraps while I"m playing too, but when I rendered before I got a good file size.

What bitrate are you setting it at? And how long is it?

Using Fraps on full size with the 30 frames per second option and a 30 second clip was around 2.3 MB for me, I think 230 MB is too big, no-one would download it.

i agree, the fraps files are normally quite large even for a 4 second clip it can be about 2Mb, but i reduce the size after outting a video together.

i have second thoughts on downloading videos that are100Mb + i wouldnt even bother with 200+

I prefer saving it as wma. About half smaller than avi.

i think the quality is better with avi though, but if youv got lots of the videos it does consume alot of space (i think my fraps folder is nearly 3Gb)

No one would download it mate. You would need to make it less than half the size to attract people's attention... and no I doubt there are many sites willing to host a 230MB file for you.

innit i couldnt be bothered dloading a vid that big unless i knew it was gonna be worth it, my first vid is 28mb someone watch it, its been burning a hole in my pocket for time.

I know, I know, who would host it and who would want a 230MB file.

BUT how would I compress it?

I've tried virtualdubmoc(a program that compresses vids) but the end product was just dissapointing.

The vid is only 4 mins long give or take 10-20secs. + 2 songs(1 which is only 2/3rds of the original and the other only lasting like 30 seconds)

I can't use adobe premiere until next week(Cause it's at school) and I want to release this ASAP. anyone have any ideas?


Untill then i'll be tinkering with virtualdubmod so keep your fingers crossed.

I got it to around 10mb. at acceptable quality. 480x320(optimised for my pda and file size for resonable downloading).
