Man , i can't believe it , once i can finally go to the desert , i can't win the first Mike Toreno's mission .... it's called "monster"....the best time i can do is 7 minutes ... I tried more than 50 times and i can't make it ....Somebody help me!!!:confused:

Don't follow the trail, just go to the checkpoints as quickly as possible. Its really not inteded to be a hard mission, more of a fun one. My best time was 4:20 I believe.

mine was 4:35 i think, it's not to hard, just dont push yourself to hard or you'll screw up, and make use of the 4 wheel drive

My best time was 4: 40. So, keep at it and make sure you use the 4X4 steering...It helps.

Best time was 4 mins 23 seconds, so you will do it eventually, just keep at it.

the 4 wheel steering (thats what you guys mean right) is for making sharp turns i think... but it turns really sharp so dont overturn with it

Thats an easy mission. I was lazy so I did it in like 6 minutes last time I tried.
But man..you're gonna have some tough crap coming up after Monster, be prepared.(Especially that one where you gotta protect the helicopter, that crap is tough)

wuts tough is the one where u fly and u cant go to high in the air or ull get detected by sattellite damn man that was hard......crashed into the trees so many times cause the trees sometiems will show up after u crash..........
oh and watch out for the hill when you turn to earlier u end up falling down the cliff..... :p
Lol, N.O.E, that was funny, it was awful on the PS2 cos the trees just didnt show up.

just go in a straight way to the checkpoints, the monster truck can nearly go over all the obstacles in this race
(sorry didn't read good, someone already said this)
you lots...
that mission is easy. Just use the 4x drive and climb big mountains.
Done it in my first go :rappo:

I just dropped some tears reading again how easy that mission is... I think I'm a good driver, never had any problems doing racing jobs and stuff - but that monster mission... doing a perfect job, no crashs, going straight from one point to the next - still cant do any better than 7:45...
Can there maybe be a bigger problem? Because at the "Toreno's last flight" mission I was told to set the bike in front of the heli... But no matter how perfect I drove, I could never get in front of it... had to shoot it from behind with heat seekers...
Maybe a hardware problem that slows the own vehicle down? I own a Athlon 2200 and a crappy GeForce 2 MX/MX 400...
Pls help!

Use the brake, and just drive straight to the next checkpoint, don't forget you don't have a handbrake, and beware not to drive off of cliffs and thus flipping your monster over.
u all cant read? "it's sooooo easy..." got it. that's why it's so depressing...
and the fact that PICK-UPs pass me when I'm speeding with a muscle bike (at the san fierro bridge, all straight along) is something which lets me think there's something wrong...
so stop this "it's easy" postongs, i got the point. and i KNOW that, with my game configs, the mission cant be done in 4:50 or so. it's impossible.

as i said, u cant read... but one thing u're pointing out right - i wouldnt have come that far, if i didnt know how to drive...
for me, the game is over. that's what making me so desperate.

If the game can't be completed with your configurations, then just change them.
i think it's a question of hardware... i already put my graphics pagefile cache to 3 gigs, and i use the minimum settings...
but if i'm right, then it's quite strange that this problem lowers MY speed, but NOT the speed of other vehicles...
and if i'm wrong, i'm the by far worst driver who ever played this game. :)
i just thought it's a known problem. sad, sad... :(
will have to stop the game when it's getting interesting. all i can do without this missions finished, is to play submissions in san fierro, like exporting cars and stuff...

Your hardware is not strong enough, because if it was, you'd pass. There's no way that you're such a bad driver. This one time I did that mission, I drove of a cliff because I forgot about the handbrake that isn't there and I still managed to pass the mission after having to drive all the way up again.
so glad to hear that... it's hard to think u suck so much u cant even finish a mission everybody else does it half asleep... :)
on the other hand: damn.
