We don't know much, but Sony promises that "Grand Theft Auto Next" will be a PS3 launch title. This information comes from some people at the Sony E3 2005 press conference currently in progress, but we've yet to confirm the report with our own editors.
We're hoping to high heaven that we'll get to see snippets of the game in the coming days.
All I can say is HOLY SHIT, and YES!!!

The chances of it being ported to Xbox are slim and none right now. Especially if they really up the file size.

sometime between 1st and 2nd quarter of 2006 is the last i heard but that was around two months ago. haven't looked into the release date that much.

Is that the Japanese/Asian release date? Since they tend to get them 2/1 season earlier. And do you have any idea of when the XBOX360 is releasing? (Just a general idea, I don't mean the specific date and time.)

Well I feel sony fans have every right to be excited about it. Similar to how I've seen some Xbox fans ecstatic that FFXI will be on Xbox 360 (I'd be happy too, that was always something that the xbox lacked, good RPG's, though lately they've been getting better ones. Don't even get me started on fable)
If they say, "I'm happy it's going to be exclusive!" I don't mind one bit, but if it's "lol xbox ain't gettin' it lol woohoo!!!" then it's annoying.
Anyway, I'm sorry for complaining.

FF VII will be on ps3, can't wait :D, the new GTA will be godly, unless it sucks then I will throw a brick through Sam Housers window.

I know I saw a tech demo for FF7, but nothing on FF8. There is of course the Derge of Cerberus (or something like that) that's a game based on a FF7 character..

Unless you have a paid account with ign or gamespot you'll have to wait a day or two, check fan sites of the games.

Awww man. Sucks. Anyways back to the PS3, I want to see the backside of the controllers! Do they have R1,R2,L1,L2 buttons? Why can't PS3 people make a indepth video like the Ourcolony one for Xbox 360, *sigh* I have to wait for reviews.

OkC, you sure seem excited, All I can say for a GTA on PS3 is "woohoo", So far this has been the best day of my life, I just cant tell you how excited I am. :D:D

What Rockstar did confirm, however, was that it would be supporting the powerhouse system in the future and that it's looking forward to creating living, breathing worlds with the Cell technology.
Evidence of this could be found in Rockstar's PS3 trailer that showed an old-west style desert game that is as of yet unnamed. We'll have more on that in just a few minutes.

The pictures and information about the ps3 made my day, week, month, .... and probabaley year....
but new GTA on the next playstation................... it just blew my tiny little mind into millions of pieces...

What, FF on the xbox? Where you hear that?
From the E3 Xbox 360 Press Conference thingy. A guy (forgot who) from Square Enix even said so.

I was really thinking of buying an Xbox 360, but after this news and the release of the specs, I am definitley getting a PS3! I probably have got the Xbox 360 if those games were released on it, and its coming out earlier. I feel sorry for Xbox fans though ;)

FF VII will NOT be on the PS3. That was just a visual demo. That is it.
Final Fantasy XI will be on the xbox 360.

FFXII is taking way to fucking long as is. It won't even be playable at this E3. And another game from SE that is taking for fucking ever is Kingdom Hearts 2.
I'm really getting sick of SE being so damn behind in their promises of release dates. KH2 alone was supposed to be out christmas of last year, now it won't be out till christmas this year.
