Let me just start by saying, this game is the king of all MMORPG's.
Now, I haven't played a lot of MMORPG's in my time of gaming, maybe put about 1 hour in EQ and 6 hours in FF11. So, before I wasn't to big of a fan. BUT, I was a fan of Blizzard's games, including Diablo, Hellfire, Diablo 2, Diablo 2: Lords Of Destruction, Starcraft, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, all of which I own or used to own. And I loved these games, especially the gameplay of Diablo, the choices in the game were awsome at it's time and I loved every second of my time playing. Same goes for Warcraft. Well, basically mix those two together and you will get World Of Warcraft, WoW for short.
Unlike most MMORPG's this one is by far the easiest game to just pick right up and go with it. Quests don't require a Harvard education. They usually explain where to go, how much to kill, and where to return. Sure, some quests are bound to be a pain in the ass, but thats gaming for you.
Now, I have been waiting for this game for just about 3 years now. Of course it's out now, but thinking in the past. And Blizzard took a long time to put this game together, and it turned out to beautifull. The scenery of the game it great, the level design is truely awsome. The occational cave/house can look repedative at times, but it doesn't bother me one bit.
Well, when the game finally came out, my cousin ran off to buy it. And at this time I was staying with him and his parents, and our computers sat but 1 foot away. So I expected to play aswell. But, I had no money. He came home and started to install it, and I got preatty jelouse and started to be a dick to him. Well, after about an hour of installing, him and his sister took off to Best Buy to buy another copy for her. But she got the Collectors Edition, which comes with a 10-Day Free Trail for a friend. So she gave it to me, we all installed it and started to play.
Now, at first, since the game was JUST released, the servers had some stability issues and were up and down for most of the first week of release. Which IMO didn't look good. Well, being the good people Blizzard are, they gave some extra days to people. About 4 to be exact. So I got my time to play, and my god did I play, lol. I was up all night, sleeping all day, constantly playing my ass off. I was so into this game.
So, to get down to it. Blizzards still has some issues with there servers, but they are trying SO hard to resolve them. Offering server transfers and giving 2 free levels of experience to people, and even some extra days to there accounts. Now thats good service.
My advice, go and pick up this game, it's about $49 (US). And you will have to provide a credit card for verification and billing. Which the first month is free. And after that it's only $12 a month. Which, if your a real gamer, thats shoudn't mean anything. Unless of course you really can't provide the money, or just have stubborn parents.
Please, if you are into RPG's at all, give this game a play. You won't regret it.
