okay, i'm at the "Farewell My Love" race near the end of the country-side missions, and the car they give you sucks dick! i can't drive for shit in this mission and end up getting way behind the race or blowing up my car. i just want to get it over with so i can get to San Fierro... anybody got any suggestions? cheats? anything?! i'm stuck and there's nothing i can do until i pass this stupid race.

The only advice I can give is keep your cool. Like if you start getting really angry, take a break. It really helps. But if you don't mind cheating, you could use the flying cars cheat. Watch them take off and completely flip out, then just take the 'race' nice and slow.:p

-Boost your driving skill up
-Go in 3rd person view (the closest)
-Memorize the shortcuts
-Manipulate the camera with R3

My driving skill is pretty high for this stage of the game because I used the car for everything. I NEVER walked and rarely used the bike. I have done the Wu Zi Mu driving one but not the Farewell My Love mission I will do that one today.
Just remember...try to get ahead at the early part of the race as long you keep up speed and dont crash they usually dont catch you. It only took me a few times to win the Wu Zi Mu race.

i cheated & beat it! entering the flying cars cheat and cruising through the race slowly was the easiest way to get it over with. thanks!
It's the sinches mission..Well maybe not! Wait till the mission where yuo burn the truths crops down then destroy the helicopter then take an 80 hours drive to SF.

I beat it without cheating yesterday after about 8 or 9 attempts. It easy to win races. Just get out in front early keep up your speed and dont crash and you will more than likely win.

Aha I finished that mission by luck! First, one car was ahead of me and the 2 others and it flipped over when it drove over the panopticon bridge. Then I pushed the 2 other cars in the river when we drove past it! Hehe that was a fun mission that way, I was the only one who finished.

Would that cheat also work in the car races in Vice City??
yes it does, but the vice city races are way easier

I can not find them anywhere. I am far enough in the game that I should be able to compete in them. I have heard three different things pertaining to the races. One website said there is a race menu, another said that after you complete the ceaser missions in los santos that a checkered flag apears on the map, and this website said that the races open up for you to play after you complete driving school. Anybody know what the status is? Has anybody competed in the race tournaments, if so let me know when the where opened for you to play and where you went to enter? thanks

-Finished Cesars missions in San Fierro ??
-Bought Wang Cars ??
-Completed Driving School ??
Im sure you have to have done @ least 1 of these things.

i have completed all the cesar missions but, have not done either of the later. So are you saying you need to do all three to open up the races in los santos? when the races opened up for you, how did you find them? thanks
