6 months

For the sake of keeping the reivews more recent and keeping some ridiculous reviews for games (like say Midnight club, or GTA3, or MGS 2) from popping up (seeing as most of by now know what the games like) I suggested a 6 month rule.

So far the response to that has been about even, though only a few responded.

So here is a poll, you the edge forum users decide. I felt a more democratic approach would be best.

I think there should be some rule, but not six months. That's just too much of a short term. I don't think people reviewing Midnight Club and Metal Gear Solid 2 is rediculous, since they are two excellent games in a world full of mediocre budget titles. People should know what games in the bargain bin they can consider. That's my opinion, mind you.

Yes because not eveyone buys the latest games and if a game that is older than 6 months is reviewd on here and they like the sound of it they might buy it, so everyone will b happy.

i say no because a game that has been realesed 6 months ago...everyone has seen it and knows what its like. and some people might have seen reviews for it already in websites or magazines

I believe this won't be too much a problem anymore cyrix. When the forum was unvailed, everyone wanted to get a review out even if that ment reviewing something old. Now, people tend to only review the newer stuff.

I voted yes, but with some conditions.

Obviously you shouldn't review a game like GTA3 or Halo. All of us have read reviews on those games and pretty much know if they are good or bad.

However, if there is a game that not many people have played or cared about, then you could write a review if you plan to give it a high score. There are a lot of very good older overlooked games such as Ico and Viewtifull Joe that others might have fun playing if it were recomended by another forum user.

Obviously these are not rules, but just something to consider.

Maybe there should be different forums for the current generation games and past generation games. Otherwise this forum will come through with forums reviewing mari ofor the nes or sumthing.
