This taken from gtasanan.com / San Andreas has only been on the shelves for a few months, but Rockstar aren't wasting any time and it seems they're already planning the next title in the series.

The domains GrandTheftAuto4.com and GTA4.com have been registered by Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games.

So the title of the game is definitely Grand Theft Auto 4, and the release will likely be October 2006. No further details have been released, although, the MVC Trade paper believe that Rockstar hinted the location of the next title:

Due for next-gen systems, sources close to the project suggest the team is looking beyond the US for the setting of the next title, with Europe a strong contender.

There will be more registrations in the future. Its all because Rockstar doesnt want us to know what the next game will be, so they register alot of domains. Everybody knew the game after Vice City would be San Andreas because Liberty City/Vice City/San Andreas were the cities from GTA1 and the first 2 of those were already made. It was pretty obvious the next one would be San Andreas.

GTA4 sounds logical though. The 3 cities from GTA1 have been done. I kinda hope its true, cus it will probably have a complete different gameplay then the GTA's on PS2. VC and SA were sort of add-ons to GTA3.

Your spot on dude! Vice city originally started life as an expansion pack, sonic & knuckles on the megadrive (remember that one?) style. But they couldn't fit all that they wanted to do onto an expansion pack so they bought it out as a stand-alone game.

it would b pretty cool if the next GTA was set in Carcer city and the main character was that Cash dude from Manhunt.i love Manhunt almost as much as i love the GTA series but i would like to know what it would b like to play it GTA style(stealin cars,bikes,planes).ok i know u guys r gonna start makin fun of me now so let the insults begin...

/\ It would be cool to have Carcer city as one of the citys in the next game, as long as it was no longer sectioned (sp?) off. Cash could make a cameo but shouldn't be the star (he has his own series after all). The gangs from Manhunt could be there as well.

Just let manhunt be Manhunt, I dont think it would be 'cool' if GTA and Manhunt would be related to eachother. Carser City, ok.. but character/gangs goes a little too far.

Anyway, I can't be botherd to read through all this thread, but domains like Gta-Tokyo.com, Gta-LasVegas, Gta-Bangock, and all the other rumoured ones were registerd by Sam Houser, so you never know. And besides, the SA homepage was located on R*'s own webdomain. So, yeah.

Wasnt san andreas called sumthin like sin city for ages then it was changed to san andreas, this shows it definately isnt confirmed to be called gta4.

Those two games were more expension packs then really a complete new game. It has the same game engine, same gameplay. So you could call Vice City, GTA3-2 and San Andreas, GTA3-3. Since all the cities from GTA1 have been done, its more then likely GTA4 is the next one.
