the Beta compared to the Final SA

I just thought it would be fun to share your thoughts, ideas and comparasons on some of the older San Andreas pictures that were from the beta version compared to the final version of the game.

notice how there's a Vago's ( I think it's a Vago's guy, could be one of the other hispanic gangs though ) walking with Grove Street gang memebers? It's as if he's in the gang with CJ, following him around.

notice how it says LSPD on the side instead of what it says in the final version, SAPD.

it also said that cops on bikes would dive onto the back of your car, it only does it in that one mission

on the cop cars , yes, they say LSPD, SFPD, and LVPD. But on the cop bikes ( and ambulances ) it says SA instead of the seperate city initials. Wierd, I thought.

one problem though......the grove street gang members don't just walk along with other rival gang members, they shoot rival gang members.

It's a great game, but not that much of an improvement from Vice city. Alot of things that R* "promised" weren't in the game. Although most of this was based on speculation, some of it wasn't. It was a load of hype about nothing tbh imo.

Hype is Rockstars main weapon when it comes to selling their games. It kind of pisses me off. That's why everyone should only judge a game when it's out and playable instead of judging it by what game magazines and websites think just by looking at beta pictures.

I reckon these things were never even intended to be put in the game....
I mean, there are hundreds of places and things that arent seen in the game. Has anyone thought of the idea that R* have just made these special screenshots just to get people interested? I mean, on some screens you see interiors you are never able to get to.

i liked how the beta had more types of grove members instead of only 3, in the beta they had like 5 or 6 i think.

the ballas looked retarded in the beta, they look more ghetto-ish in the final product

and a small thing but in one of the picture with the guy in the hoodie (grove) it looks like theres a garbage bag right by the street, havent seen that yet

oh and too bad sweet,ryder, and smoke didnt have casual clothes, they looked cool in those

yeah the picture with the gang members leaning out of the car and shooting, i they think they are meant to be big smoke,ryder and sweet

they are wearing white and don't look anything like what they look like in the final version.
i reckon they look better though.

I think SA is an amazing game! It outdoes Vice City by far, no challenge.

Alot of the "promises" were just speculation and rumors from magazines etc and people. Rockstar never actually "promised" that stuff, you know what media people are like, they make stuff up all the time.

The draw distance was improved ALOT in my opinion. I can see SF from the coast along the desert, which is further than VC.

The only things i dont like is the pop-ups, driver AI (again really bad drivers) and impact animations for all vehicles, but especially aerial ones. Also ragdoll physics would have ruled.

oh and i have a question, in that pic that guy posted with guys leaning out of a car shooting, that guy in the seat behind CJ, i read somewhere he hangs around the grove and you can recruit him

is he in the real game? nobody mentioned him yet

I think that may have evolved into the jester as it's got a similar side view.

The car washes are funny, why make the game have dirty cars, put a load of car washes around and then don't make them work?

Oh and R* - you don't need to hype your game with misleading pics / quotes. any GTA game is gonna get our interest and sell well without it, just for next time, ok!!

Oh and for those Halo2 vs SA comparisons (even though they are different types of game!) I read that Halo 2 could be completed in 4 days (not sure how many hours per day) and I've just finished the story in SA at 78 hours (not including unsaved time). Bet that gets a reply!!!
