How do I get to Shoreside Vale by jumping?

I've heard that you can use the flying cheat to get to Shoreside Vale when the bridge between there and Staunton Island is still destroyed but I never reach the other edge? Am I missing something or is there some other way?

Use a tank with dodo cheat instead. If you want to go fast, turn the turret around and shoot as you're driving. The tank cheat is:
O O O O O O R1 L2 L1 Triangle O Triangle.

You have to turn the turret around and repeatedley fire backwards.
