Major rampage bug!

I have Vice City on the ps2, I have collected all packages, done all missions etc. but I now there is a massively restrictive bug whereby I cannot pick up any rampages

I've done most of them but now whenever I walk into a rampage (the floating pink circle w/skull) it disappears briefly as if to commence rampage, but then promptly reappears. If i stand in place of the floating icon it will continue to dissappear as if i have picked it up and then reappear... How annoying!

Also, the pink glowing area u walk into to buy something from a shop is never there anymore, hence i cannot shop at all!! The ammu-nation shopkeeper jus stands there and I'm not given the oppurtunity to purchase anything!!

Everything works fine if i start again from the beginning...

HELP! its pretty darn annoyin to get this far n hav it glitch out on me

you probably(don't know if i spelled it good) used cheats

Well I thought that but then I only ever used the health, armour and weapons cheats. I used them a bit when I first got the game, but since then I vowed to try n complete the game without cheating. So the effects are a bit belated in relation to the cheating. But i guess it's still possible that that's the case.

I don't know much about what effects cheating has on the game, I thought it was the spawning cheats that mullered it up.

Not necessarily. Aparently if you cheat it takes away one hidden package. Therefore you cannot get 100%. Doesn't/Shouldn't affect rampages though.

Ah I see,
From that then I think it's safe to say that the basic health, armour and the 3 weapons cheats don't affect the game because I, eventually, found all the packages.
(Even though i went to every known location bout 3 times before i found them all, if i had known cheats are known to remove the packages i wood've long ago assumed they werent all there! Keep looking kids ;-) )
So cheats arent the problem, any other ideas? I can't think of much that could fix the problem anyway. Except maybe the game still thinks i'm on a mission or somthing and is therefore not lettin me pick them up, and i need to trick it back into the right frame of mind, or somthing.

u sure cheating takes away packages? ever since i got 100%, i used cheats to make the game more fun, and the hunter still spawns in ocean beach

The cheating screws up the game if you haven't gotten 100%.
Also, NEVER save after using any cheat.

@ fezman : It takes away one hidden package....if you have that hidden package....it cant take it away.

I think its only if you cheat on a mission though.

@Jimminy : I doubt the game thinks your still on a mission because when you are on a mission, all the rampage icons disapear until you finish the mission.

People, People, having HEALTH, ARMOR, LOWER WANTER LEVEL, and GUNS cheats entered doesn't do anything to the game, you can complete it 100% anyway, and you can save. however you can't save when you entered any cheat other then that.

yeah, i noticed that too
using those cheats (health, armor, wanted level) wont affect your save file
using a car cheat, character, weather, time, etc. will affect the game, lowering your criminal rating (my cheating file has a -10000 rating, lol)

lol my ps2 vc doesn't encounter that bug even though i've collected everything except that little detonator bomb glitch.
