I have a few downloaded .rep files (replay files) that I would like to view, but don't know how or what to view them with.

What you need to do is put them into your save game folder (the one where the save games are) and then rename the file to replay.rep . When you get into the game press the button to play saved replay (default is F3) and it will play the replay in the folder. I don't know if there are any programs out there that play *.rep 's but I haven't heard of any. Hope that all makes sense.

No way you can view it outside of Vice City, since the replay file consists of telling the game actions and isn't an actual recording.
Kind of sucky, but it's the truth.

To record video you should use a program like FRAPS which will record to a separate folder. Then if you want to host it on the web you can turn it into a low rez Windows Media format using Windows Movie maker. The origional fraps files are typicly over 100mbs and wouldnt be something most people want to download.

I have FRAPs and use it to make movies of all my games (hehe, great shots in MW4), its just that a friend sent me his .rep file.

That's very nice to know and we thank you for being such a great help.

On-Topic: You can use Fraps (http://www.fraps.com/ then go to the Downloads) to record just about any 3D application.
Works wonders. :p

record your replay using Fraps. You can move the mouse around while replay is running to get any camera angle.
Yes Fraps records in .AVI which is HUGE! Convert to something else.

I have FRAPS, i just wanted to know if it would have been posible to view the .rep file in, say, Windows Media.

i know FRAPS makes gigantic files... and I already know how to convert them to smaller, yet equal quality, files. Im using Windows Movie Maker to make the movie itself...
