I left my old phone in my jeans pocket while at a surprisingly wet water party and it got trashed. I thought it was making a good recovery (it works!) but the battery life is severely screwed now. It lasts like 5 hours and phone calls completely knackers it.

This (http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/specification/S amsung/C3050_Black) is the phone I'm thinking of getting, simply because it's relatively cheap and I'm used to Samsungs.

Anyone know anything about it, or any other good (cheapish) suggestions?

There's a couple of things that pissed me off with my old phone; it only holds 200 texts before becoming full and the middle button opens up the internet despite it costing so much on my tariff (I never use it) and there's no way to reassign that button. So if y'know any phones that don't have irritating things like that, that'd be sweet.

Thanks babes <3

Any in particular? I've had a couple of Nokias in the past, but my last 2 phones have been Samsung (out of chance) so I've got used to the Samsung way of doing things. I've got no problem using a different brand though- with the possible exception of Motorola; I hate their menus.

my brother's got the phone you linked to
or atleast it looks similar to it

the only complaint ive heard him say about it was when he was typing up a text for one person and he got a text from another person it would interrupt him and (ithink) make him start over.

Yes you can. Don't get a Sony Ericsson, unless you're planning to dish out a few hundred buckies.

Sony ericsson phones seem unreliable these days.

Also yeah motorolla is shitty. Nokias are so easy to use and basic. i've had one samsung but it went through the wash after 2 weeks :P my new phones dead now because i dropped it ONCE. I'm putting it down to being because it was so thin. thin phones break so easy.

I dunno. Samsung phones are pretty laggy compared to a lot of other stuff on the market these days.
I got myself a HTC not long ago. A few tweaks and a custom firmware and its fucking awesome.

Motorolla is just ... Don't even go there. Nokia's are always good. So easy to get used to. Though I have heard bad things about those new E71 phones. Also a friend of mine has one, Shes dropped it once and since then it is sooo fucking slow.It took a good 30 seconds for the message to load from choosing it in the inbox. Cheaper SE phones are ugly and don't have that much difference from older models.

I'm a bit of a phone guru :P

I've had my HTC Magic for a while now. As far as I'm concerned, it's an awesome phone. Might I suggest waiting for the HTC Touch Pro 2? Or possibly a T-Mobile G2, which is already out. My G1 is a powerhouse, and far better than my old iPhone.

Samsungs last forever, I had one that got hit by a car, the flip part snapped in half. Snapped it back together and it was still fine.

I've got an EnV touch now and it's pretty dope

Turns out my brother's getting a new phone and his old one is a HTC Touch, so I might just steal that for nothing (:

HTC Touch Diamond?
I have one myself. Nice phone. But if you want faster firmwares hit me up. Out of all phones I have flashed HTC is not only the safest but the easiest.

It's this one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Touch) I think.

I have that phone Mouldy
its like over 2 years old but overall its a good phone
the only thing that bothers me is windows mobile
somedays it will crash multiple times then other times ill go a month or two with no problems
depends what programs you use too

EDIT: for nothing its definitely worth it, also if you've never had a smartphone/pocket pc it will be pretty amazing (atleast it was for me when i switched to it from my old nextel)

I'm not too fussed about it doing anything fancy, so as long as I can phone and text on it without it crashing I'm happy. That's literally all I use my phone for.
