View Full Version : Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP
Both unveiled earlier today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which would you prefer to get your hands on, and why?
Both are a long way off, but it's possible to speculate on them right now, just from the look of the games.
Nintendo DS has a built in microphone & voice reckognition, Wi-Fi access, backwards compatibility with Game Boy Advance, two screens, with one being touch-sensitive.
Sony PSP has a larger, single screen, infra red, remote control, movie playback, & Wi-Fi access.
Personally, I'm going to have to say neither, as both machines are looking extra cool right now. Oh those lucky people getting to play them tomorrow :( I wish I were there.
So which is it to be?

I voted the Sony PSP because to me it is more reliable.
BTW - Why does Nintendo DS have voice recognition?

it's ok carl, i'm sure he didn't do it on purpose........................................... .................................................. .......................................
and yeah...i can't decide...depends on graphics and how the buttons are layed out. i don't care about any other features. i am leaning towards the psp though...the screen size looks awesome

Definately Sony PSP, I probably won't buy it but it looks sick. Nintendo DS looks pretty damn awesome aswell but I haven't seen the graphics for neither one of them yet. I believe they're certainly 3D with more advanced graphics than other handheld systems.

Some games use voice recognition to allow the player to give commands simply by saying them.(Assuming it recognises your voice properly, I usually have to repeat myself a good few times on UT2K4). Although I'm not sure if a handheld is going to make much use of that, and besides, if you're playing in public, you'd probably look a bit silly talking to a handheld console in a non-cursing manner.
As for which is best, I guess I'd go for Sony PSP because I know more about the PS2 than Gamecube. But I won't give any solid verdict on either at such an early stage.
DS all the way baby its a sexy lookin mo fo although ill probably end up buyin both the polls at 50% each tense

I voted PSP cuz just think of all the awesome games PS already has and probably there will be PSP versions of all the cool games, like GTA on PSP, man that sounds sweet

as for the PSP go here and scroll down the page http://www.e3insider.com/articles/insideE3/FC9JB7N B5U.htm
What I find ironic is that Nintendo have a near 100% market share of handheld gaming right now, yet very few of you people are supporting it's successor, the Nintendo DS.

My reson for saying the PSP is because it's reliable and good. So Nintendo invented the handheld. I still think the PSP is better.

i'm most likely going with neiter and waiting for the next gameboy to come out. and the DS is not the next gameboy for those who think it is.
