Hey guys / gals,

Just wondered if anyone here has ever had a shot with contact lenses before?

I went to my appointment to collect 3 pairs today along with some fluid, which will last me for a month.

They seem to be abit of a pain in putting them in as I have a condition called retinitis pigmentosa and night blindness included with it.

Just wondering how other people find using them.

Cheers, 'Grime.

I've been using them for a few months now and I love them. A bit hard in the beginning, but I couldn't live without them anymore. I get the occasional red eyes just after putting them in, though, but it's getting rare.

Hey there,

Have you ever had an occasional time where you accidently think that the lenses has moved elsewhere in your eye?

It happened to me a few days ago, except it was still actually on my pupil.

I just couldn't feel it in my eye when I was trying to take it out. Although, after about 5 minutes I managed to get it out.

No, I see a huge difference between having them on my pupil or not. But it can sometimes wander across your eye, although it doesn't happen to me that often anymore. Just turning your eyes in a circle will mostly bring the lenses back on your pupil.

Depends if you need to wear corrective lenses all day or just for certain things. I used to wear contacts, but I think they are a huge pain in the ass, so now I just wear spectacles when I need to.

Yeah, I defiantly know that they are not strong as normal glasses. I have ordered a pair of 'Touric' contact lenses which are supposed to be strong as normal lenses for glasses. I'm still trying to get use to putting them in. On average, It takes me about 25 minutes to place them both in my eye, so I can see what you mean by "Pain in the ass".

My lenses are as strong as my glasses, isn't that normal?
And Grime, it used to take me ages in the beginning, but you'll get the hang of it.

I guess it depends on how strong your overall vision is. To be honest, I can't hardly see anything without my glasses. If you have better vision overall then me, without your contacts then I'm assuming you should be able to see more than the average person with less vision.

I have minus 3.50 and minus 4, I think that's pretty bad already. Actually, I have never even heard of contacts that aren't up to compensating your eyes' deviation, it sounds sort of pointless?

I've had contacts for about ten years. I have an awesome kind though. I can leave them in for up to two months straight without ever taking them out, cleaning them, or even needing eye drops. I don't see how people live with the kind that they have to take out nightly.

@ zombeinm what kind are they?

ive had them for a year know and im never going back, the only problem i have is that i work at a really dry place alot of paper dust so they seem to get dried out while im working which is so annoying.

@zombienm, How much are you paying for yours? I'm paying on average £18 /month. But they advise me to take them out each night. I'm hoping when my Toric lenses arrive in store, that they are going to be alot better than the ones I am currently using.

There must be worse things in life than having to take out contacts every night :P
But I'm curious about what kind of lenses you've got, I've never heard of them but they sound very comfortable!
