Was just thinking about how I play the two games, and I play very similar.
Basically I hoard all kinds of good armor and weapons in my house even tho I don't use half of it.
Especially the unique weapons and armor since I know if I sold it I'd lose it forever, but other just good items I'll also keep (just in case). My house(s) are always full of all kinds of shit.
What do you all do? Hoard items or sell everything for cash?
Also do you play FO3 differently than Oblivion?

In Fallout I sold everything for caps, in Oblivion I hoarded all the magical weapons even though I never use them :P

In Fallout, shit's a lot harder then Oblivion, So I can't really hoard up items.

But In Oblivion, i'm a rich bastard, thanks to the dupe glitch.
:P

But when I'm seriously playing, I don't dupe.
I sell most of my stuff, but I don't use the money for anything.

Only save unique items and sell the rest.

Well I've put almost 90 hours into Fallout and my Megaton house is filled with all kinds of armor and weapons. I've gotten most of the unique versions of most weapons. Also Fallout is much easier to hoard ammo and health packs since they weigh nothing. I have far more caps than I think I'd ever need since there's not much to spend it on. They should add more houses I could purchase since in Oblivion before finding out about the infinite money glitch I actually kept running outta money and didn't even have all the houses purchased yet. Probably would have had enough if i sold half my shit.

In Oblivion I sold everything but in Fallout 3, I would sell everything except from guns, ammo, and stimpaks. My megaton house is crammed full of guns, from chinese pistols to sniper rifles. I have a big pile of ammo sitting in one of the storage rooms and another room full of stimpaks. I am always prepared for each quest and I cannot wait until the DLC.

In Oblivion I always collect a bunch of stuff and sell it off. Being more familiar with Oblivion, I know whether I'm getting rid of something I would or would not want again. In Fallout 3, I really don't take much with me (anymore) after having collected most types of weapons and storing them in my Megaton house. I often do not get things to sell them, I depend on quests more for caps.

I only sell weapons in Fallout 3 if I don't have enough room (or store them in my house). In Oblivion, I sell for the same reason and if I need gold.

Haha, same basically. That Megaton house is the sheezy. Good space, and free purified water, too! ...to give to the dying people in the wasteland! =P

I do the same in both games. In Oblivion I always kept the best stuff I could find and sell the rest, in Fallout 3 I keep the best stuff I could find and sell the rest.

What I like to do in Fallout 3 especially is find a bunch of the same item an then use my 100% repair skill to repair it and sell in full 100% condition, you can get loads of caps doing that. I need the caps cause I'm always constantly running out of ammo and have to repair certain weapons I can't find replacements to do it myself. I also trade in ammo to guns too I never use to get the ammo for guns I do use. Many ways to make money in both games.
