Would you like Max Payne 3 to be a freeroam, have some capabilities, or none at all.

i liked the level system it always just seemed to fit with the game i dont know how positive or negative it would change the game if it was freeroam so im going to have to stick with the level system

um yes, for example after finishing storyline, he still works as detective. checking vehicle trunks for drugs or people for evidences and like these things if can be in the game it'll be awesome and more enjoyable.

Somewhat like ... True Crime New York City?
That game had a great potential, except it was ruined by being rushed, and the glitches.

Oh yeah, something like that but without those shitty glitches, dayum I hated its vehicles handlings, very awful

I go with free roam because that would mean we would be able to have car chases and car chases are awesome.

don't you guys think another new york freeroamer would be a bit stupid for rockstar? I mean we did just get GTA IV from them last year

^^ He see's some logic

With Max Payne you can do diffrent things, like slow motion

Sam B.
05-26-2009, 01:30 PM
sorry behzad, but it would just be a GTA IV with slow-motion, and that wouldn't be worth developing if it would just end up being a game thats 90% the same as IV

Havok, and Sam...
Neither of you have logic :P Just kidding.
It's a NEW CITY.

Since the last game, the press release states Max has left New York behind and has "drifted from bad to worse". The press release then goes on to say Max has been double-crossed in this new city and he is searching for the truth and a way out.

Just blew your guy's "I'm better then behzad, let's say its like IV, and then get e-laughed" right outta the water.

even with a whole new city another free-roaming shooter from rockstar would just be another GTA with "Max Payne 3" slapped on the cover, people would just lose respect for rockstar and think they can only do freeroaming games.

Still, i just don't like the idea of it, i prefer the level system the old ones had, but i guess if the future is freeroam so be it

To be honest, I didn't like any free roam games except for the GTA series. So, no.

NO, no way, Max Payne is not a Free Roaming game, if you force it to be you'll ruin the game and it will be utter shit, the flow of Max Payne 1 & 2 is perfect, fitting and is exactly the way it should, throw Free Roaming into that mix and it'll get messy, and wrong, it'll lose focus and anyone who thinks Max Payne would be a good Free Roaming game has clearly missed the bloody point of the game.

There would only be one way rockstar could make this game a free roamer and that would be to make it a bit of a RPG, but that would throw the pattern of the past games away completely, so I don't know, other than that I don't see any other way of making this game a free roamer without messing up the game and rockstars reputation as good developers.

I wish I could've changed my vote now. Realizing how MP1&2 played out, I feel like an idiot now.
:P

I just hope R* doesn't change Max too much, I liked his looks how he was.

behzad_sol
05-26-2009, 01:53 PM
he is bald now, bearded with mustache

Patrucci
05-26-2009, 01:57 PM
Yeah, that's what I don't want.

The beard and mustache are okay...
But bald?

His facial structure is still his Max Payne 2 version, was a gif floating around that shown a production shot from Max Payne 2 and his face matched up perfectly with the Max Payne 3 image.

I remember that thread about Max Payne 3 which somebody posted with his new face and and someone else matched it with the Max Payne 2, it was cool

Patrucci

Yeah, I've seen that, but Max, too me, was sleek and cool.

It looks almost as if, they took the original picture, and pastelled over it.

It looks almost as if, they took the original picture, and pastelled over it.

All Max Payne "Comic" sequences are done like that, they get the actors in to pose for the shots and then they draw over it, not sure what the still image version is called but it's like rotoscoping.

I think the person that played Mona Sax in the film version is alot better looking when compared to the actor in the cut scenes, although the film sucked

whats so funny about it?

im in 2 minds. i think max payne would be awesome as a gta style protagonist, but at the same time i love the level based gritty storyline of 1&2.

I don't know about a full free-roamer as it'll feel too much like GTA. But if they were to give it some free roaming capabilities. ie the missions stay in one place, but you are able to wander outside of the mission zone. but outside of missions, you should be able to explore.

Also, there shouldn't be a clock like GTA. It should be at night only, so you get empty streets etc.

Absolutely not. Free-roam ability would entirely ruin the Max Payne feel for me, and frankly I don't see what's so damn special about free-roam anyways. I kind of miss the old corridors and closed arenas in older games.

Urghh, no. Just the though of a freeroam Max Payne leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

I would say yes, except with GTA and the upcoming LA Noir, I doubt we need another one. But I would like some bigger stages.

victim
05-26-2009, 06:50 PM
Definitely not. It would ruin all of the brilliant elements of storytelling that the Max Payne series has to offer.

Rockstar already has two free roaming game franchises with Red Dead and GTA. Max Payne should stay the way it is
