best recent racing game on pc?

I'm looking for a good racing game on the PC, and I am just wondering what I should get. I was thinking of something like Test Drive unlimited or Race Driver: GRID.

TDU and Grid are both great games. One is an open map, free roamer with tons of cars (and a few bikes) to chose from, the other is more touring car-like with only race cars and a fun (albeit somewhat short) career mode. Graphically Grid is better and the cars handle pretty much the same on both games (except that on Grid cars are more twitchy). TDU was fun during its hayday with lots of people online and I enjoyed going around and driving across Oahu and going to different houses and dealerships, but if you want strictly racing I'd go with Grid.

DiRT is pretty sweet as well as is TDU. If you want something free to try out, download Trackmania. Also, Burnout Paradise just came out on PC and is also great.

I know this isnt too recent and its only good if you like the simulation racing but rFactor is great and cheap also and alot of great mods are out for it
