Sony has been teasing a huge announcement involving inFamous and Uncharted 2. Well, a Kotaku reader has discovered what that announcement (probably) is. The reader snapped a picture of inFamous pre-order boxes that show that the game will come with a multiplayer beta voucher for Uncharted 2. So not only do you get Sucker Punch's electrifying (*snicker*) game, you also get to delve into the new multiplayer world imagined by Naughty Dog.

While the revelation is exciting for PlayStation 3 gamers, it's also kind of amusing for those that follow the business. Executives and developers at Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog (and Insomniac) are known to be tight -- almost like BFF developers. While this move can be seen as Sony leveraging one of its established franchises to boost sales of one of its new ones, I prefer to look at it as BFF developers helping each other out. :rolleyes:

Anyway, will the inclusion of the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta influence your decision to buy inFamous? Were you on the fence about it before, but totally into it now? Leave a comment and let me know (please)!

I might get the game now inFamous just to play Uncharted 2 Beta :P

That's the big Sony announcement on the 27th, doesn't look like it will surprise people anymore. Anyway, I don't really want InFamous, but I do want that beta Code, I'm not sure if I want to chance getting InFamous, get the code and then return it ASAP.

I think that will work! pre-order the game and then when you have the code and downloaded the game just cancel your pre-order. :)

Hopefully Sony skips this bullshit and just puts the demos online properly on the European PlayStation Store.

I hate this idea because it really makes no sense. Where is the logic in limiting the number of people who can try your game in an attempt to get more interest?

Put the demos online, let people download and play them and let them decide whether they want them after that.

Funnily enough Neil, I have to agree with you on that one. I actually know quite a few people who simply bought Crackdown, got the Halo 3 beta and just left Crackdown sitting there, collecting dust.

This is a MP beta for testing, not a promotional demo so I don't see what's wrong with the approach. There may be a proper demo at some point anyway that would include a taste of single player I'd guess.
