Fallout: New Vegas announced

A new entry into the Fallout series was just revealed today in London. Fallout: New Vegas is "not a sequel to Fallout 3" but rather "another Fallout game in that universe."

The new game was revealed by Bethesda's Pete Hines who said that the publisher is working with Obsidian Entertainment on the title.

Hines added that this title will have no impact on what Todd Howard and his team are working on.

The new game will be released once more for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game's official reveal will be coming in the near future. We'll have more details once that time comes

@phreak, personally I would suggest FO3 over RE5. I haven't gotten very far through either of the games though so take my opinion lightly.

I had the same exact problem with fallout 3, do a search for "Fallout.3.FinalFix.Skullptura" and install it, It fixed all my crashes with that game.

Oblivion however I still have a minor problem with, sometimes when I select something in the player inventory the game minimizes on me, so what I have to do is remember to alt tab the game at least once after each time I start it up, then resume it. and it works fine

im glad betheseda is getting there real good games out there faster rather then waiting another whole console generation for the next games. my guess is elder scrolls will be released real close to fallout new vegas or sometime before

fallout 3 was good i think obsidian will do a good job on bringin fallout 3 back to its roots hopefully not to the point where they bring back the jokes like the world they were in wasnt real but like just back to its roots.

Makes sense condiering TES:IV was in development for 4 years before release.

Hopefully it will be as groundbreaking as IV was for me.

Elder Scrolls IV, was a great game. Well, it depends on if you like wilderness and large massive environment freeroams.
Elder Scrolls IV, gave off a warmth as you played on, travelling along paths, finding little villages, exploring caves and stuff. Awesome game in my opinion.

Fallout 3, was also a great game. But I didn't enjoy it as much as Oblivion, because Fallout, re-used a lot of the same heap junk piles, it was drab, but a great free-roam. But you got attacked every second, the shooting wasn't very good, and I felt that the game had an excellent starting, Vault 101, birth, 10th birthday etc. But they could have played that out a little longer, actually having some free-roam V101 time would've been nice. The Vault 101 part at the beggining, set the game's feel for me, it felt rather short though.

I hope it doesn't have the same atmosphere as Fallout 3. I hated it, as I did the landscape. And most of the other things in the game.
