My first question is, How many of you have bought a Nintendo DS purely for te new game? My second question is should I buy a DS just for his game? Because I have enough to buy the game and a DS but am stuck on the fence as I don't know of any other games worth buying for the DS. Is this game worth getting? Is it FUN? How many missions are in the storyline and also has it got lots of FUN things to do after the story missions ect? Finally is it better than GTA:IV? I would like to hear lots of peoples views on this game.

If you thought GTA IV was too serious and boring then you'll like Chinatown Wars as it's a return to the cartoon style of GTA1/2 with some 3 mixed in. I did not buy a DS for this game, As for you, depends, do you think One game is worth it?

had the same dilemma, don't want a DS except to play this.......... i do admit to getting it working on an emulator! i have bought EVERY gta game to date!! twice for some of them, so i've paid twice for the same game in effect! not so bothered about the cost of programming/conversion but i have bought the rights to watch THE SAME story again! so don't red me for being too much of a ****:D
tried it but the controls don't "work"(they work but don't feel good) however now i've demo'd the game i do think its worth paying for. will kill 20 mins free time at work nicely!

decided to get a cheap DS from gamestation, only 75 quid atm and i think that'll drop now the DSI is out. will wait a few weeks and get it then. got some ps3 games to trade anyway.

want a psp too though:rolleyes:

There are a lot of good DS titles. Problem is, you have to sift through a lot of bad ones. Cash-ins for console series, etc.

i already had a ds so i'm lucky and theres about 40 or 50 missons plus all the rampages and that it will take about 30 hours to complete everything.

I bought a DS for this game.

It was totally worth it. In fact this game is worth a DS and the price of the game itself. I've spent countless hours on fun on it and yet only about 70-80% through the game. You won't be disappointed!

In fact it's the only DS game I own. I only play Ninja Gaiden through a flashcart sometimes.

And it's not "better" than GTA IV per se. It's the "ultimate" Grand Theft Auto, taking the best parts of all GTA games made so far and putting it in one game, that's it. There aren't many story missions, but it's massive for a DS game with lots of side activities, which are fun, and a large Liberty City minus Alderney.

The story is good and has a very interesting twist at the end. Also, if you're Chinese, this is a 100% must-buy. If you're not, it's still a damn good game!

I don't think it is worth it to get a DS at regular price anyway for just one game. Then again GTA:CW is all I've played on my DS since I got the game :)

I already had a DS before GTA:CW came out. All in all it is a brilliant game, lots of fun things to do, you can play the game for hours without actually doing any of the story line missions. As for buying a DS just for the game I think you should. Solely because GTA:CW won't just be the only game you ever buy for the DS if you owned one. You're bound to eventually buy others. As Olin said there a quite a few good DS titles but you will come across a lot of shit ones. My favorites being:

Professor layton and the curious village
The legend of zelda, phantom hourglass
All the brain training related games (theres loads)
All the mario related games
