Yea it's really fun, but I die and get busted a lot - the action-packed GTA that GTA has become has somehow become realy unsuitable for a top-down view, although Leeds have succeeded in getting around that. Still, the driving is rather difficult if you want to drive fast without crashing, and shooting projectiles is kinda hard.

But overall, this game is almost perfect, just as with GTA IV.

yeah it's OK, I like how you have to hot wire cars though and the newer cars have better immobilizers. The only thing that annoys me is the story is no where near as involving as all GTA's have been since GTA III. But i guess thats due to the limitations of the DS.

You bought a DS just to play Chinatown Wars? Damn dawg, spread the wealth! Richie McRichster

I wish I was as rich as you zeeshan, buying a DS like it's nothing, unfortunaly I was born into the ghetto. I apologize if my assumption of you being rich is incorrect or inaccurate.

GTA:CW looks really good from the video's ive seen.

It's a hard knock life for us

I bought a DS for Chinatown Wars too. It's not about being rich, it's about being dedicated. You'll know that you're a big fan of GTA if you're browsing GTA sites all-day, writing blog posts on GTA news, buying every GTA game and buying game systems just for GTA. And also, other signs are that all your computer, mobile phone, etc. wallpapers are filled with GTA artwork/screens and your music library is filled with the GTA soundtrack.

Are you a fan?

Well, I certainly am - a hardcore one. It's not about being rich, really. I'm just merely a student and took 3 years to save up for an Xbox 360. Try to scrimp and save here, or get a decent job - you'll get enough cash together eventually. Good luck. I hope you get to play Chinatown Wars soon!

Nah, I just happen to love GTA a lot - killing is a no no - why would I want to prove Jack Thompson right? :D

I actually had to search for my DS around the house. I think this'll be the game that gets me back into it.

I got it today and I am absolutely blown away at how awesome it is! Very impressive for a DS title. This is a good example of how Sony has failed with the PSP...

I liked the PSP Games :( I still like them, CTW is good but it doesn't have a kick ass soundtrack like the PSP games did, infact, only major downside to VCS, sadly, was the story, everything else was near perfect.

If GTA Advance is to GTA III as GTA Chinatown Wars is to GTA IV and GTA LCS/VCS is to GTA III, then I believe we'll get some PSP love soon ;)

Oh I definitely got a DS strictly for CTW. Granted I didn't buy a DS with my own money, but I wanted it and went through the trouble of telling everyone that I wanted a DS for my brithday. And that, my friends, is hard work that only a truly dedicated fan will endure.

As for the game, I have yet to get it :( Comes in tomorrow from Gamefly.

Hmm.. Decisions, decisions.

Originally, I was going to spend all my birthday money on my girlfriend and get her a Wii, but I'm coming up short, and now I'm getting $140 next month for my own birthday. My old DS is the 2005 model and the screen's gonna' go out soon, so I started looking at the DS Lite on Amazon. $130 seems to be the going rate, and I could then borrow the money for the game.

Thing is, with the DSi coming out, I get the impression any extra money should just go towards getting that version, since it has internal memory, an SD slot, two cameras, and all that stuff. I mean, for the most part, I wouldn't use the majority of it, but two or three of the added features seem like a big improvement, and it's not much more expensive than the Lite.

Any opinions on the two versions? I'm thinking I'll either get the DS Lite with Chinatown Wars, get the DSi and the game later on, or just get a game for my 360, then wait and save to get the DSi and Chinatown Wars at Christmas. Sucks when you only have disposable income twice a year. :P

Go for the DS Lite, the DSi is just a few glossed feature that do not really benefit the games (except maybe the slightly bigger screen), plus you can't run Homebrew on the DSi, where as the DS Lite allows for much more greater content.

It has 2 built-in VGA cameras, which are kind of pointless (why 2?!). It adds firmware support and boasts a slightly larger screen with a brighter backlight.

The DSi removes the GBA slot, reducing some functionality. Mostly in games that used this slot for peripherals and obviously the support for GBA emulation is gone. The firmware updates will clearly be issued in an effort to prevent people from running devices similar to the R4DS, M3DS and CycloDS as they allow the DS to run commercial ROMs and other content. As of right now, there are nothing but bad words being said about the DSi by the homebrew community.

Besides the obvious advantages (screen size + backlight), there really isn't a reason to spend the extra $40.

Alright, thanks for that. I regret upgrading the firmware on my first PSP, 'cause it was a homebrew beast before that, and they don't release much of anything for it now. Also, I lucked out. A friend of mine's getting the DSi, so I'll be getting a Lite for free, which leaves the rest of the money for more games. This way, if I still want the DSi come Christmas, I can get it then, but from what I've seen, the new features are half-assed and limited. I mostly just didn't want to play GTA on the big grey brick that is the DS Phat. The screen's just too dim now.
