GTAGaming Presents: The Lost and Damned Giveaway!

Just under one year ago, we brought you the Grand Theft Auto IV Giveaway, in which we gave away two copies of GTA IV and tons of exclusive Rockstar goodies. We figured it's about time to give back to the community that gives us so much, so it is with great pleasure that I announce GTAGaming's new giveaway of five copies of GTA IV's DLC, The Lost and Damned, arriving February 17th to Xbox Live!

Contestant entires will be accepted from today (February 2nd) until <b>February 15th</b> when <b>five winners</b> will be announced and awarded <b>1,600 Microsoft Points each</b>. All you need to enter the giveaway is a GTAGaming account and an Xbox Live gamertag. If you're not a GTAGaming member yet, <b><a href="/forums/register.php" target="_blank">register now!</a></b>

Once you've registered and logged in, visit the <a href="/gtagaming/tlad-giveaway" target="_blank">giveaway page</a>, fill in your Xbox Live gamertag, and click "Submit." Your information will be placed into a pool of contestants, which will be selected from at random on February 15th to determine the winners.

<b>NOTE:</b> if you do not enter a valid Xbox Live gamertag you will be disqualified from the giveaway. This rule eixsts to prevent us from giving the prize to someone who will not be able to use it. You will also be disqualified if you re-register in order to enter the contest more than once.

It's possible to credit the winners with Microsoft Points? I thought that they have removed the feature of giving out points. Or do you guys send physical copies of it?

Is that why all Microsoft contests with MS Points as some of the prizes are all region-restricted?

Part of the reason yes, it's to stop imports, points are cheaper in America than they are in some other countries (well were, economy and all that). But Marketplace Point Codes and I think Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions are Region Locked, if the code is used elsewhere it will just say it isn't valid.

So, will you still send them out if one if the winners aren't currently on LIVE at the time they win? My LIVE runs out on the 18th, the day after TLAD is released . If I win, I'll be okay. I'm just curious.

as long as you've got a valid Xbox Live account on february 15, you should be alright. seeing as you need xbox live to actually use these points towards the lost and damned, it only makes sense that you're a valid member beforehand

as far i know you don't need a xbox live gold membership to use ms points in the live marketplace
silver should be fine

Well the site makes money off of the advertisements, so we decide to put it towards the site/community, rather than greedily split it up amongst the staff, you know? Glad to hear you like it, and we certainly plan on doing more stuff like this in the future :)

One step ahead of you fake rappo :wink2: I received two replies so I'm just waiting on the other two. Messaging on Xbox Live is another option.

Also "non-regular members" = the nature of a giveaway. However I don't think that's a very appropriate term, since you have no idea whether or not these people are regular visitors of the site. Just because they don't post on the forums doesn't disclude them from being a regular member!

yeah thats exactly it. i made a program to choose five names at random and print them out. then i went with those five!

I might not be a regular at the forums, but I do frequent the site a lot. This is one of my bookmarks to see if there are any cool mods for San Andreas :) I wish I also had gtaiv on PC, but my computer is not so good. also, I'm so happy for the contest. thank you so much.

Hmm, if people aren't happy that non-regulars might have won, maybe giveaways/competitions only for members signed up for 1 year+ ? Just a suggestion anyway. Congrats to winners anyway.

The idea of a giveaway is attract new members and make people register who browse the site without an account (like EvilBuddha, who ended up winning!) so in that respect it was a success, and making it exclusive to long-time members sort of defeats the purpose. I think our next item will be more of a contest rather than a giveaway, so that you actually have to contribute something in order to win.
